A cryptocurrency has its own blockchain to store all the transactions that occurred. A proof of work or proof of stake algorithm are different methods (or algorithms) to achieve consensus on which block will be added next to the blockchain.

Proof of work (PoW) requires proof that work of some kind occurred. In the case of Bitcoin miners are required to do this work before any of their blocks is accepted by others. Proof of Stake (PoS) concept states that a person can mine or validate block transactions according to how many coins he or she holds. Proof of stake protocol is effective in not only encouraging individuals to partake in the system but also preventing any individual from controlling the network. In order to carry out a 51% attack an individual or group would need to own the majority of coins on the network.

I will show you how to setup a Wallet based on Adrenaline Coin.

Step 1 Download the Wallet

Navigate to the Bitcointalk thread (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4692539 ) or Homepage (http://adrenalinecoin.org/) of the coin. Here we can see the Adrenaline Website showing us the destinations where to download the wallet.

Step 2 Synchronize the Wallet and Encrypt it

After you downloaded the wallet you can open it for the first time by simply starting the application. Next step is to navigate to “Settings -> Encrypt Wallet” to setup a Password you can remember and which is not so easy to guess. After you setup a Password you are kindly asked to restart the wallet, please do so.

Now the wallet will proceed to synchronize with the current block, depending on how old and fast the coin is this could take several minutes to hours. Once you are finished with synchronizing please navigate again to “Settings” and unlock your wallet by entering your Password. This progress is needed to allow the wallet to “work” with your coins (mature them to receive stakes).

Step 3 Transfer the coins to your wallet

Navigating to your “Receive Coin” Tab will show you a wallet adress. This wallet adress needs to be used to transfer coins from your exchange (see above) to your encrypted wallet.
Once you transferred the coins you shall receive a new transaction in your wallet. After you received them you are done with the basic setup and your coins begin to mature. It is very easy to stake Adrenaline. You can stake adrenaline with your laptop or your phone or even or on a private server!

MASTERNODE

The first thing you should know is that running a masternode is the shortest way to get a stable source of passive income. Masternodes are computers that run a wallet and make decisions, such as locking transactions with LightningSend, coordinate mixing of coins, and voting on budget funding.
