Thousands of internally displaced persons (IDPs) living in the Maiduguri capital of Nigeria have been pushed to the margins due to lack of basic necessities like food, clothing and water.

Many Internally displaced persons (IDP) are desperate to support themselves, but have no means to start income generating activities. Prolonged absence of livelihood opportunities has caused Idps to resort to fetching of firewood.
They risk their life going to the bush to fetch firewood.
