What is Bungee Jumping

Bungee jumping is high adventurous sport activity which involves jumping from a tall structure while connected to a large strong elastic cord. Usually tall structure is a bridge, building or sometimes crane, hot air balloon, helicopter. How bungy got started?

On 1 April 1979, members of the Oxford University Dangerous Sports Club, jumped the first modern bungy from the Clifton Suspension Bride in Bristol, 250 foot high. They were promptly arrested but continued with jumps, which later became popular worldwide. A. J. Hackett and Chris Allum opened the first commercial site in Ohakune, New Zealand in early 1988.
