Hi how are you steemit friends of outdoor info? This time I will discuss about figure eight (Figure 8). Surely you ask what is figure 8 is not it? Maybe for athletes climbing and who have never done outbound descending already know about this figure 8. But do not worry me here will discuss it from start to finish all, so you who do not know about figure 8 is to know and you who already know about figure 8 is becoming increasing knowledge.

As the name implies figure 8 is shaped like anga 8, with 2 holes 1 small and 1 large. Figure 8 is light, yet powerful. The material of figure 8 is the same as the material of the carabiner that is of lightweight but strong alloy metal. Treatment of figure 8 is certainly the same as the carabiner is not to fall or bump too much because it will reduce the strength of figure 8, as well as carabiner. Figure 8 is commonly used for wall climbing / rock climbing, rappeling (Descending) and other outbases. Function of figure 8 in rock climbing / wall climbing is as brake for belayer. Belayer can be defined briefly in wall / rock climbing as a person who secures / prevents climber fall directly, so belayer can be called brake from climber so as not to fall directly to the ground. If a climber falls to the ground it will be fatal consequences.

In Descending (Rappeling) Figure 8 is also used as a brake, but if the wall climbing / rock climbing was in charge of braking is a belayer if the brake descending is a descender. In using figure 8 as a brake we do not need to use a lot of power enough to pull the rope that the bottom we have automatically stopped. In using figure 8 as a brake it is very easy and helpful, keep in mind there is also a weakness in using figure 8 as a brake that there is a twist on the rope when used. But I think that weakness is not something to worry about because the weakness of figure 8 does not reduce the level of security when used.

In using Figure 8 we have to be careful because if we wrong the installation at the time of Descending or climbing will be fatal consequence, like a car that brake blong. Keep in mind also that figure 8, Keep in mind also though using this figure 8 we are safe but do not let us be careless. We can be brave but do not forget the caution. If we are careless it will certainly be bad for us.

A few reviews about figure 8. Do not miss the other interesting postings from the outdoor info that surely further add to our knowledge, insight and experience.

Dare it's okay, but do not get caught in pride
