Simeulue District is one of the districts in Aceh, Indonesia. Located approximately 150 km from the west coast of Aceh, Simeulue Regency stands firmly in the Indonesian Ocean. Simeulue District is a division of West Aceh district since 1999, with the hope of increasingly improved development in the region.
The capital of Simeulue Regency is Sinabang, if spoken with the regional accent is Si navang derived from the legend of Navang. Navang was the ancient salt maker in the Babang area (the entrance to Sinabang bay, formerly Navang made salt by stemming sea water entering Babang beach, then dried and then salt.)
