TRYING NOT TO GET BIT BY VENOMOUS SNAKES WHILE SAVING THE FISH

in adventure •  7 years ago

Life can be so dangerous sometimes!

I was just trying to save some fish that were going die when their puddle dried up, and I almost got bit by a venomous snake in the process! Thankfully, we all walked away from the encounter, but man was this a close one!*

WATCH OUT FOR DANGER VIDEO

OH NO.... HERE IT GOES

With the recent drop in water level at Bull Shoals Lake, a lot of fish are getting stranded, so when we find them we like to help them continue their lives by getting them back into the real water. Just the other day we found this puddle full of Carp, Largemouth Bass, Green Sunfish, Bluegills, Bullheads, and Channel Catfish. What I did not realize is that danger was just around the corner...

Or should I say "just under the rock?" I was actually pulling fish out from under this rock, but I was not alone. Under that rock was a large Cottonmouth!

Once I moved the rock slightly to get to more fish the large snake slithered out! Boy was I surprised! Thankfully, it never bit me! As a friendly reminder, be careful out there and remain aware of your surroundings!

As always, I'm @papa-pepper and here's the proof:

Sometimes the line between bravery and stupidity becomes blurred.

Wow that was scary! What a great deed saving all the minnows! That lake is going to be well-stocked now. Its amazing how many fish you pulled out of those tiny puddles!

There is a lot of them all over the place. It is incredible to see how many fish are hiding in there, and to see how many different kinds!

My Heart Skipped a Beat when you showed the SNAKE. I am grateful you did not get Bit !!! @papa-pepper. Love the Nature Videos..............

I know! It was a close call! I'm glad that Water Moccasins are mostly "show" and not so much bite.

Papa you are a real man! I respect you for your manliness! Just look at how you're grabbing that deadly snake!! 😱

More careful sir

Wow... a snake conqueror..!

Those tiny fishies! Where do you dump those murky looking bags and what kind of faces do people make at you??

LOL - Let's not get started on the faces that people make at me!

Your photograph with the snake was beautiful.

howdy @papa-pepper! great advice. Most people wouldn't even think of going to all the work it took to save those fish so good job!

WOAH!!! Close call!!! Glad everyone is ok!

I know! It reminded me of how careful I should be!

That's was so close...
Too much risk you're taking....

Wowww !!. snake😨😨😨😱😱

Wow, it's scary how you can catch a poisonous snake.

@papa-pepper you are right man any thing could be happen in life so better enjoy each moment

Shoot, that's scary. Glad you didn't get bit. Do you have a snake bit kit or something that you keep in your car? What do you do if you get bit?

That's really nice of you to stop and help the little fish. Who knows, the fish you save could be ones that spawn many more fish in the future.

Gotta think snake under every rock.

I wish! LOL - But very good and valid point! Treat them like there is a snake beneath it, and be safe!

Glad you are OK!!

Me too! LOL

Thank God you are not bitten by a snake. Your response is fast and so you can handle it.
For some people a snake is a scary or disgusting animal. Hearing stories about snakes are usually going to creep. When they see the snake they will panic and may run screaming for fear of being bitten.
And if we are calm then we will be able to overcome them.
If you see a snake and want to catch it, grab a branched wood. Make this wooden branch form the capital Y letter. Use the branch to push the snake near the head. Then hold it carefully and watch its tail. Do not let the tail wrap around the hand because it can be stronger and you will release the head even become bitten by it.
It's good if you also recognize the type of snake is venomous or not, so it can avoid the danger of snakes and know how to respond if there are snakes around us. Characteristics of venomous snakes include:

  1. its head is triangular. The more form the snake triangle is the more venomous. if not venomous usually oval shape. but there is also a venomous snake that is not too triangular form of cobra.
  2. In the poisonous snake its tail has one row of scales sedngkan the non-venomous end of the tail has two rows of scales
  3. Movements tend to be slow, but suddenly can be very sprightly when pecking prey
  4. Oval eyes indicate the snake is poisonous, while the non-venomous tend to round pupils
  5. the bite leaving the fangs as a means to inject venom

What if we were bitten by a poisonous snake?
do not panic, stay away from snakes and blood flow to the heart by tying a bitten hand or foot over a bite wound. Clean the wound and contact your doctor immediately for intensive care.

Thank you @papa-pepper

Warm regard from Indonesia

One thing that got me stunned was the manner of calm and doggedness you exemplified. How I wish I could emulate this.

That was almost too close for comfort! Do you have antivenom close by?
