Leh, a beautiful town in Jammu and Kashmir and best described as an abode of the Buddhist spiritual aspirants. It is a true representation of splendid beauty with lofty mountains, deep blue water, white dunes, Buddhist monuments, beautiful mosques and warm people.

Leh (Ladakh) is a beautiful land with fantastical and surreal landscapes. Leh (Ladakh) is home to several Buddhist monasteries, study centers and monuments. It is surely a dream destination for tourists with a plethora of attractions to visit and various exciting adventure sports to enjoy. For those who are keen on shopping, the local markets offer some interesting options like the beautiful Tibetan jewellery, motifs, decorated carpets and woolen clothes which will surely find their way to your bags. Don't forget to be a part of the colorful tourist festival that is annually held in August. With all this and more, Leh (Ladakh) is definitely a tourist paradise. However, there are some precautions one should keep in mind while planning a trip to Leh (Ladakh) to avoid any health issues which may arise due to the weather condition. You may feel ill-at-ease for a day or so, especially if you fly into Leh, till your body gets used to the lower levels of oxygen at this high altitude. Take it easy for the first few days. Do not exert yourself, rest and drink a lot of water. Avoid alcohol. Don’t worry unless headaches, dizziness, nausea or shortness of breath — symptoms of Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS) — persist. Consult a doctor if they do. You may need to return immediately. A hat, dark glasses and a good sunblock are a must. Once you are here, don’t forget to visit the pristine Pangong Lake to have your own filmy moments.
