However, there are some precautions one should keep in mind while planning a trip to Leh (Ladakh) to avoid any health issues which may arise due to the weather condition.You may feel ill-at-ease for a day or so, especially if you fly into Leh, till your body gets used to the lower levels of oxygen at this high altitude. Take it easy for the first few days. Do not exert yourself, rest and drink a lot of water. Avoid alcohol. Don’t worry unless headaches, dizziness, nausea or shortness of breath — symptoms of Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS) — persist. Consult a doctor if they do. You may need to return immediately. A hat, dark glasses and a good sunblock are a must. Once you are here, don’t forget to visit the pristine Pangong Lake to have your own filmy moments.
