Today, we tried out the Hell’s Hollow Trail. There are multiple trails from the start of this one, but we only took the one leading to the waterfall. Again, this trail was found on the All Trails app.

George led the way!

Unfortunately for us, this is a very popular area and there was some sort of event going on. Between that and all the mud from yesterday’s storms, we decided not to stay very long.

After finding this giant hole next to the other waterfall—and given just the name Hell’s Hollow itself—I tried to look up some more information about Hell’s Hollow, but didn’t find much related to this specific part of the area. There’s an old iron furnace somewhere in this park.

Also, there’s an urban legend about a murdered Native American that haunts this area. Unfortunately, we didn’t hear anything out of the ordinary.

He was disappointed about the amount of logs in the way to jump over. Since it’s so well travelled, the paths are immaculate. Not a single tree down across the path. At least not on the path we took.

Overall, we still had a good time!

And Georgie is one tired pup!

What a beautiful park! The water looks very calm and peaceful even with the creek-like rocks and subtle white currents. There must be a lot of tanins in the tree leaves to give it that dark amber color. Did you take photos with phone or a regular camera? Great shots!

For as fast as the water moves there, it is still very peaceful and relaxing. Fantastic scenery.
I just used my phone here and at the other waterfall. Keep forgetting my DSLR. The phone managed pretty well, though. Thanks!!

DSLR might have been too heavy anyways, at least that's how I end up feeling when carrying one around but I'm just fussy about being burdened when doing things like that.

On this particular trail, it wouldn’t have been bad, but it is difficult to juggle the big camera with the dog. Even more difficult when the trail is rockier, too. I’m not a big fan of being burdened by carrying stuff either. It’s a struggle because I do love my DSLR. Haha
