Discovering Seminyak

If you are in Bali for the first time, we would advise you to locate yourself within the South region, perhaps in glitzy Seminyak. South Bali is most popular with tourists, and for good reason. Beautiful beaches, cultural markets, easy to surf waves (perfect for a first try), excellent shopping and gastronomic delights are but some of the draws of the region.

There are plenty of accommodation options in Seminyak, from budget friendly backpackers to hotels and home stays. For a truly relaxing Balinese experience, Villa-Bali.com has plenty of beautiful villas in Seminyak at value-for-money rates for you to experience authentic Balinese hospitality and luxury without breaking the bank.

ULUWATU&JIMBARAN'

Another day trip could be taken to Tanah Lot, one of the iconic spots of Bali. The travel time is about an hour from Kuta area to Tanah Lot, taking into account the frequent traffic jam. Exotic tales and myths surround the temple. A giant snake is believed to surround the temple to protect it, and young couples are warned against visiting the place alone. The coastal temple is perched out on a rock outcrop and is cast against the brilliant backdrop of the Balinese horizon. This awe-inspiring scene draws photographers from miles around.

If you are not keen to travel all that way to Tanah Lot, Uluwatu is another spot whereby you can watch the gorgeous Balinese sunset. Watch out for monkeys, and carry a long stick to keep them at bay. Uluwatu also has a Kecak and fire dance show and visitors are allowed photos with the dancers in their costumes.
