Notre-Dame de Paris
This building doesn't need a introduction.
West civilisation has got some symbols, Eiffel tower, British parlament building, Coliseum and Notre dame de Paris. People around the world identify this buildings with power of the west and architectural masterpiece
Around 1160, Maurice de Sully, the bishop of Paris, conceived the idea of converting the ruins of the two basilicas into a single, larger religious building. In 1163 construction began, it was huge challange for medieval architects to bulid such a big building with simply tools. After 182 years of construction the cathedral was complete in 1345
The two early-Gothic towers crowning the western façade were constructed between 1210 and 1250, reaching 68 m. Proudly standing above the surrounding buildings
