Seriously. Why do your brains even have to go there???
The Gympole is described by the manufacturer as a professional dance pole, in the case of the "active" it can be thrown over your shoulder and taken with you into the woods (or your favorite outdoor spot).
This, in itself is not a bad thing. Pole gymnastics is a great way to condition the body and enjoy a great workout for all ages ...
In this Youtube video the pole is being advertised by children!
Okay so what's the problem? Well there isn't one ... these kids are getting a great gymnastics workout and enjoying a completely family friendly outdoor activity. The problem isn't the pole, it's not the kids, it's not the advertisers choice to use kids in the advertisement, it's not what the kids are wearing.
Or rather that they don't think for themselves at all
While the manufacturer of the Gympole is trying to de-sexualize the image of the pole by showing that it is a useful tool for family friendly activity, many of you so called "civilized" people automatically start sexualising the children because of what you think you "know" about the pole.
So I ask again;
What is wrong with people?

I appreciate the upvote. The purpose of my posts is to create a conversation. Saying "great post" is a nice compliment, but saying something about my post and your thoughts on it tells me that you read it and found value in what I had to say.

I absolutely support the advertisement. My question, after seeing a discussion about the ad, was why do people want to make something dirty out of it?

You have an interesting blog. Did you read my post? The context indicates that I am interested in discussion about poe-fitness and whether advertising it as an "all ages" sport is a good thing or if the connotations of little girls "pole dancing" gives the wrong message.

Yes, I have read your post, and that is why I like it, because there are all sort of beliefs related to pole dance, pole sport, pole fitness or any other name that it currently has. I can understand why certain people are somehow prejudiced against it-specially for kids- but then, if you consider it a sport or an athletic activity, then it shouldn't be scandalous. It is pretty similar with belly dancing; it was first frowned upon, and it has nothing wrong. If you see one of my posts, I mentioned that pole dancing may become one day an Olympic sport, so that gives you a hint of what a lot of people are starting to believe. People have to overcome their prejudice; like everything in life, pole dancing evolved and now we have a discipline that is amazingly complex. Since I take pole dancing classes, and I have seen what the classes look like, I wouldn't prohibit a child from taking lessons as well (in fact, I have a classmate who is 16 years old).

Thank you for the thoughtful reply. I completely agree that it should be supported as an all ages endeavor (and all gender for that matter). I'm happy to see others who support it as a healthy sport activity.
I apologize if I came off negatively at first. I get so frustrated seeing "nice post, come look at mine" without seeing constructive feedback. I'll take a closer look at your page :)

No problem! Yes, I know what you mean, it happens the same to me. I am really glad to have found your post, I keep uploading pole dance content but nobody contributes much so it is great to see people who share the same interests and who also think alike :)
I will continue reading your posts too! I'm really glad we met!
