"I came across frightening entities who wanted to kill me" - The nature of nightmares and what you can do to remain safe and sound!

in advice •  7 years ago  (edited)

Nightmares are dream events in which we feel threatened and scared for our own lives or the life of our loved ones. There are two main types of dreams that may entice nightmares:

  • Dreams in which we process inner parts of our personality. Here, troubling aspects within us surface to show us in vivid colors things about us that we don't like, fear of or detest. The dream scenarios that we create may intimidate us as they involve thought-forms that our mind creates to emphasize the experience. Such dreams take place in the near earth realms and usually it's quite easy to stop them and move on or to awake.
  • Actual journies into other dimensions. In this type of dreams, we encounter strange forms of consciousness, from different systems. Our ego, who is not familiar with such worlds may be scared for its survival and therefore may evoke a fear to make us wake ourselves up. Remember, you are visitors in those worlds and should act accordingly. Meaning, don't mess around with the creatures there. Watch them, wander, but don't engage in activities with them. (The movie Inception is a good example of this type of dreams).

When doing active dreaming use the following tool to keep yourself safe –
Know that you are sovereign. There is no entity in the whole universe and the dimensions that has control over you or can affect your consciousness without your consent. Therefore, when in the midst of a nightmare, repeat the following mantra, and the frightening situation will change immediately – "I Am That I Am".

Here is an example of a nightmare of the second type and my comments about it.

Hi,

First I have a general question: In recent days I have had a series of weird dreams and I noticed that such dreams appear when I sleep with my head to the north. When I change sides (head to the south) I hardly dream. Is there any explanation for this?

Now, for the content of the main dream itself:

The feeling was similar to the "Big Brother" style (Orwell's, not the TV show). I dreamed I was on some street, and suddenly it became pitch black and some voice told everyone to go inside before the lockdown. I rushed into a store, many other people were there, it was dark, a giant screen showed a religious movie. I remember that there was a beautiful building (in the film) with eye-shaped glasses, and then something happened and the building peeled off and took on a mean look.

Two children came in with a huge tray of sweets and put it on me. We were told to taste the candies but I suspected it was some kind of an exercise and did not touch the sweets. Then one of the children took out a board, marked it with numbers, chalked my name in one of the first places and told me to come with him. We went to the house, where he gave me a newspaper that had strange questions with three possible answers. One of them was "who is allowed to kill people, God or man?? Then I had a discussion about the implications of technology on our state of mind and how we are addicted to that. In the end, I entered an elevator with many sporadic numbers, I pushed a button with the number 15, the elevator climbed and I got outside on a darkened roof.

This dream is one of the most delusional I have ever had. What do the elements say there? And what do the numbers mean? I am a 25 years old woman.

David:

First, you're right. Changing the direction of your body to the north, while sleeping, affects the nature of dreaming. I became aware of this fact a few years ago and changed the location of the bed in my bedroom. It's great that you noticed that.

Secondly, the nature of that dream is more experiential and less symbolic.
This is a journey you have made to another dimension, a different reality, where you met with foreign populations. Since this is not a symbolic dream there is no point in interpreting the objects/events. The important question for you is why you chose to visit that reality, how you got there and what might it teach you about the expansion of your consciousness. These are questions that of course, I can not answer without knowing the circumstances of your life. At the same time, this is an investigation you can do by yourself.

My suggestions -

  • Write down your dreams in great detail. Especially pay attention to the feelings they evoke.
  • Pay attention to where you are - do you return to the same world every night? Every two nights? Never?
  • Try to see if there is an element that repeats itself in each dream and accompanies you? Is it a form of energy (for example, a ball of light in a certain color)? Very often when we travel to other dimensions we are accompanied by explorers, assistants, that help us to navigate there.
  • What is your level of awareness in the dream? Are you aware that you are dreaming? Or do you only understand this when you wake up?

I remember that at some point I was aware that I was dreaming. I remember that towards the end of the dream I told myself that I had to wake up and it was a dream. The most remembered feeling of the dream was of danger and fear, I kept on trying to pay attention to the environment and people around me, not to fall prey to entities that might want to kill me.

The repeating elements in my dreams are elements of supernatural things - for example, two nights ago I dreamed that I had a device that enables people to time travel, and a few nights ago I dreamed that I had the power to freeze time. And every time I wake up, it makes me laugh at first, and then it bothers me that it repeats itself time and again only in different ways.

It bothers you because you're in a new unfamiliar environment. Try to give yourself suggestions before you fall asleep that you are safe and protected. Your mind has mechanisms to keep itself safe so as long as you allow the dreaming process to occur naturally (without artificial substances to alter awareness like drugs or alcohol) there is no foundation for your fear. That does not mean we should ignore it, of course.

The supernatural elements in your dreams indicate that you are in another world, in a different reality. Explore it. Whatever you discover will teach you a lot on your spiritual path.

Your philosophy is great. You have a great deal of knowledge about almost everything. I think that most nightmares are a normal reaction to stress, and some believe they help people work through traumatic events. Frequent occurrence of nightmares, however, becomes a disorder when it impairs social, occupational, and other important areas of functioning. The night mares of actual journeys yo other dimensions are great I think. I guess they help us to broaden our minds and views.
But I contradict about how can I repeat the mantra in a dream. I don't know how that's gonna happen. I don't have much knowledge about this subject. I hope you share your knowledge and wisdom with us. Thanks.

Good point!
Repeat it to yourself in the waking hours and in the dreams it will come out naturally. Meaning, in face of a frightening creature you will remember that mantra and say it out loud. The creature will then fade or leave.

With due respect I'm not completely satisfied. But I will take your advice. Thank u . Have a great day

Wow,, is the best your mr @nomad-magus .

It got me thinking really hard. That was a good read. I don’t know if you also have this belief in your country or is it just in ours (I’m from the Philippines, by the way), but we have this belief that when you sleep with a full stomach that is when you will experience between life and death dream. Some say, there are those big, fat and horrible looking creatures that seem like sitting above you and others would be out of breath because of it. I would like hear your thoughts about it. Or to any readers who were able to experience or heard about it. I have experienced a different thing but I would love to hear stories of your experiences. And if it is also true and is existing in other countries.

I'm not familiar with such a belief or similar.
I think it originated in the advice not to eat a lot before going to sleep, a good advice unto itself.
When you burden your physical body with processing food, the consciousness experiences difficulties to go deep into the dream realms. Therefore, your natural ability to refresh yourself during sleep is compromised. I suggest to eat a light dinner, 3-4 hours before going to sleep. Not only it will help your diet, it will also improve the quality of your sleep.
Second point to mention is addiction. When one is addicted to food and eats a lot without balance, in the dreams one meets same entities that have similar addictions. The problem is that the feeding continues and thetefore any attempt to lose weight is bound to fail.

  ·  7 years ago (edited)

Thank you for your reply! It confirmed my hunch that this belief does not exist in a different country. Also, a thumbs up for your enlightening explanation. Yeah, it is just wise to eat a light meal before sleeping. Will surely take your advice and even share it to my friends. Thank you! 😊

  ·  7 years ago (edited)

Yeah it may just only exist here or maybe not. But it did happen to me. I slept with my stomach full some years ago thinking it would never happen because I do not believe it but then I woke up from a nightmare I didn't expect. Whoa! From then on I never slept when I'm full or after eating.

I don't dream often but when ever i do its always nightmares :(

First let me say that you DO dream all the time and every night. It's just that not often you remember your dreams when you wake up.
About the nightmares, they most probably reflect some personal issues you are clearing in the dream. A very healthy process.
Try to examine the nature of those, try to track back their origin in your awake reality. You will realize that once you clear out and cleanse your day to day routine life - especially balancing your relationships with other people - the nightmares will cease. 🙂

"There is no entity in the whole universe and the dimensions that has control over you or can affect your consciousness without your consent."

I love this line because it shows so perfectly that WE are 100% responsible for our experience and not victim to our circumstances. Everything has always happened for us, not against us. Fear is our consent to becoming irresponsible.

I love too that you added this Pandora picture, because I am very well aware that all these places exist in the infinite Universe, telepathically received by artists, as telepathy is Heart-based communication according to our Heart-connections to the Universe as a result of our past and future history within the Time-Space continuum.

People dream of these realities but it necessitates Soul progress.

Exactly the type of articles Steemit needs!

Thanks for seconding. 👍

Whenever I've a dream I'm fully aware of what's going on and sometimes I see that I'm flying in the sky like a bird! That feeling is something which I can't forget!! Form the past one or two months I'm having dreams which I'd like to come true as fast as they could!!! I can tell for sure what I've seen one or two weeks ago!! Though nightmares n dreams r same but when one says that he saw a DREAM the second person naturally thinks that it may have come directly from GOD but when someone talk's about NIGHTMARES it only reflects the doings of devil!! I also have lot to say but unfortunately it'll take hours!!! The way u explained it is simple n understandable to everyone!!! Thanks n keep doing good work like that!!! Have a nice day!

You have an open channel to the other dimensions.
Keep it.
Thanks for your feedback.🙏

Very Interesting David. I used to practice lucid dreaming earlier in my life and I was totally carried away by the power of dreams in our waking life. You made me want to take up my good old forgotten hobby :)
Are you a professional dreamer or dream expert?

Thanks for the feedback !👍
I am no expert, just experienced. 🙂

I've noticed that when I'm sleeping with my face facing upwards , I have nightmares more often.
Even more cases of sleep paralysis.
It is much better when I sleep on my side
And not just me , many people have noticed this.
What do you think this is all about??

Better posture (on your back) allows improved breathing process which results in relaxed body consciousness, That allows your awareness to drift to other dimensions. It's good. I would not block that and not try to avoid it. If you face your nightmares you will gain much wisdom.
Remember - your darkness is your divinity

That is good advice.
I need to embrace the dreams

Sir! Nice explanation.. I happen to be in a kind of place where people think dreams do have interpretation in one form or other and the consequences occur in the realistic world... It can be positive or negative..and I do believe that... What's your take on that..also dreams are very "revealing" of what is in our minds.. Because we often dream of something we constantly think about....what u say

Indeed.
I will have a separate post about prophetic dreams, probably by the end of the month. For now, I will say that some dreams show you possibilities and it's up to you to choose which option to manifest. For example, if you dream of a nice event you can choose it to happen. Stay tuned.

This new information I know. I never tried it. And it is very likely I will try it.
What I mean is as @nomad-magus story that is changing position.
You told me that it was successful. Basically a dream is the flower bed that is experienced by almost everyone. I also believe that some of the dreams when we sleep there come true. Whether it be a nightmare or a dream.
In the religious teachings of my personal religious beliefs are also explained that there is a dream come true.
And we usually also wants dreams to become a reality it's beautiful, but not vice versa. Whether it's our selfishness? I said yes. It is the nature of our selfishness does not accept something bad things happen to us. Human nature is essentially. Just want good to happen to him. @Nomad-magus description and is based on what she has endured.

And the last, I will try your suggestion i.e. If we are a nightmare, then Fox is your sleep position. Thanks for this information.

Your words about the human nature are to the point. Soon, my friend, we will begin our joint journey here towards the beyond. Prepare yourself 💪

All of us will definitely be there. And that remains the secret of God. All have become God's Decree, no one knows when that time comes. With the exception of the Angel of the Death. Thanks for your respect @nomad-magus.

Explained in a good manner...!! @nomad-magus ..."these nightmaress"...!😒 ..when i have nightmares, i usually express my emotions through my actions or else i talk in sleep "PARASOMANIA" ... Finally when i wake up and see the things normal,i just take a long breathe so as to get rid of tge worst nightmare feeling.. unfortunately ,nightmares cant't go away, they often come ,only thing we can do is gerting over it in the morning with a smile..

Not necessarily.
In my younger years I have had frequent nightmares, and as I have matured and did my personal growth, spiritually wise, I have come to peace with my self. With that nightmares vanished. Nowadays I have those once in 3-5 years.

Thats great@nimad-magus ...and may i please know your reaction after a nightmare??? And what do you think after having one??

I don't think. I breathe deeply and release it. If you don't give attention to the nightmare it will have no influence.

Yeah..@nomad-magus ...thats where the actual inspiration lies. I was expecting for sucha philosphical point from you.
Thats probably the best solution, the more you pay attention to anything, more you are in trouble....

the more the day @noman-magus more deliberates deeper, and is very interesting to discuss . I once dreamed of being pursued by a beast, I tried to run away from the animal and fell, woke up and fell again, I was immediately surprised by the nightmare, it turns out my feet are in a pinched position or in other words sleeping errors that make the blood circulation is not smoothly. In our area believers will interpret dreams, such as; 1. his dental dreams are dislodged: this is interpreted to be a close relative who died (this dream is forbidden should not be told to anyone because there will be a consequence for the dreamer) 2. rainfall dream: this is a sign of easy sustenance. 3. dream of butterflies entering the house: this is a sign of a special guest coming 4. the dream of being stabbed with a knife: it is interpreted to have slandered us. and still many other dream tasfir that sometimes does not make sense. but people here already believe in it so deliberately go to smart people interpret the dream. when nightmares, the parents here encourage their children to turn the pillow to sleep.

The nightmare case I described above has been answered with the content in the post @noman-magus, and I have taken the benefit of it because it already has one @noman-magus spell spell. Please an additional opinion from Ta responded and provided feedback to me regarding my description above. Thank you @noman-magus for your knowledge.

Thanks for sharing the intersting interpretations from your culture. Indeed, Dreams are structured on the beliefs of the mass consciousness of the people in the community.
As to your nightmares, such dreams, when one is being pursued by a creature, animal, may symbol lack of self love. Next time, I suggest, do not run away but turn around, get over your fear, and try to be friend with your hunter.
You will be surprised.

Trying to be friends with hunters? please direction @noman-magus. Thank's

this article is very helpful specially for a person like me who always have nightmares sometimes it is hard for me to breath! it seems that my dreams are real, and that somebody is always running for my life!does the position of sleep really matters? or it can be explained phsylogically? some says that it is a doing of a lost demons at night!

The physical position is not so important. And there are no demons in your dreams, just parts of you that want your acceptance and love.

I only had a lucid dream once in my life. It was exactly the day I read a lot about lucid dreaming. It was such an amazing experience. After that I forgot about it and now reading this I think I'm going to try and get back to it. Being the one in control of the environment is awesome if it's just a dream.

I don't want no damn nightmares though. :D

Yeah, go for it 👍
Enjoy and keep safe up there.

Thanks. I will. :D

when i have a bad dream, i keep thinking within a dream that this is just a dream but i am never aware whether this is really a dream or not.when i wake up i realise thaf it was actualy a dream. my heart is overwhelmed with joy

Once again nightmares i had face few.. Good suggestions thanks mate.. Please post few post about ur favourite horrow shows or movies i love them

It's been a long time since I have watched horror movies.
We have enough scary things on the news 😉

Good let it come m waitin buddy

I even hardly dreaming or if I am I really can’t remember any details of it. Is it a normal thing? Though there is a particular dream that only appears every 8 years or 9 years is that normal too?

Repeating dreams carry a message. You may write it here and I'll suggest an insight.

It started when I was five and the starting scenario was like there were devils trying to catch me so what I did was to run and to hide in the closet of my grandmother. My grandmother by the way was a devoted catholic but me and my brothers were being baptized in a protestant church since my father is a protestant. When I hid in the closet I saw a the sculpture of Jesus’s mother which is Mary I was too happy that time becuase the devils cannot find me since Mary was there. The thing is when I looked at the sculpture of Mary her innocent face turned into a dvil face. It was a nightmare actuallyso I ran again and again until I woke up so sweaty but whenever I tried to close my eyes the image is too clear and it just gonna continue. The thing is I thought it was only after that but I dreamt it again when I was 13.

...when was the last time you dreamed it? When you were 13? and how old are you now?
By the way, this is a common dream for people with a religious background. Especially Christians. I will explain after your repliy.

When I was 13 I am 22 now turning 23 on holy thursday

Ah, so it was a long time ago.
Really, don't bother your mind about it. Let it go and if the dream returns come back to share 👍😊
Happy birthday 🥂

Alright thanks 😊

Well I have undergone through scary dreams, I think they are somehow connected to our real life, also the posture during sleep matters a lot, sleeping beside, keeping your both hand under the face and keeping your legs close enough to stomach help a lot, when I sleep keeping my face towards the roof there are more chances of such dreams.

Hmmmm. Maybe I should sleep with my head towards the north tonight. Let's see if I will get any dream. No nightmares hopefully.

Give it some time though. :)

Yeah didn't dream about anything last night. Oh well.

Well thanks for the tips.

I just didn't have any at all. Nothing to remember. I don't believe I dream every night. Lol. If they come around they come around...

Hey guess what? I dreamt randomly last night. Lol. It's all just a jumble though.

Great post.

For a long time, I suffered from nightmares every night.

Then I stopped eating sugar and starches, and the nightmares disappeared :)

Now I only have them if I've eaten something forbidden. That happened a few days ago, and I dreamed that somebody shot and killed me.

Dead.

In my dream, I thought, "You cannot dream about your own death," but that's what I did.

It's said that dreaming about your own death is a sign for longevity.👍
I'm not a doctor but I think once your sugar level in the blood drops your mind creates a nightmare to wake you up to take care of your body. You may want to check that out.

Your post I never miss, you too much experience and always you share, I am very impressed with your post, dancing once. spirit bro !!!

Every now and then we keep having one nightmare or the other.they may keep repeating or not. They can be frequent or once in a while. But the thing is mostly we have dreams related to our fears that are in our actual life and thats what tends you scare us more. Seldom do we have dreams related to supernatural creatures and since we at that time are in a different world we should just behave as an intruders and try not to indulge with those creatures. We can simply try to avoid such dreams for sure by making our minds realise before sleep thst we are safe. But how to cure our actual dreams we fear a lot during. It could be done simply by not worrying too much about them in our real world maybe that could for sure help. However we could start taking our problems less seriously with an bit of ease and less panic. This for sure will help a lot. What do you think about it @nomad-magus??

Sometimes, the best way to deal with a dream is not to think about it at all.
Just to breathe the message in and let it happen (if it's a dream that makes us happy).
Need to understand, there is no such thing as "bad" dreams. They are showing us inner worlds, and the less we judge ourselves the easier it would be to grow.

Indeed they are just showing us the inner world. Anyway i wander doesn't knowing about the fact that we are having a nightmare wake us up. Why do we want to have a nightmare rather?

it's not that you want. It just happens. As writen correctly - often they are used to release pent up energy. The more you are calm, balanced, in your awake life, the less need for nightmares.

Yeah it does make sense better a balance better a life...

Dear David (@nomad-magus),
I wanted to tell youbefore but couldn't because of bandwidth reasons..:-)
When I read some of your posts, I feel like a Deja Vu, specially this one.

From my point of you the issue of other dimensions and entities we see for example is not something in spirituality but something that relates to things that we still can't explain them scientifically.

During our evolution we "trapped" a lot of secrets in our genes, it is like the birds know were to fly even in their first trip to another land.

Sometime it is frightening because we don't have all explanations but I beleive they are...nothing is random in this world.

I second that totally.
Science, sadly, is still bound by the limiting tools of this plane and therefore it's not even possible to recieve info about other planes.
For example, flying sorcerers: for science they are merely huge metal shaped vehicles that species from other planets use to visit earth, whereas actually those are.... Any idea?

I like it or not but my mind is also limited...I have no ideas except that we don't know so many things.
Did you hear about "The Philadelphia Experiment" about Teleportation ? I wonder if the story is real or a legend ?

...flying sorcerers are the shapes that consciousness from a different plane of existence takes when entering our physical plane. Since different rules and assumptions operate in those planes, then when encountering ours a shapeshift must happen, just like we change form when we visit the dream world. That is to say, that science still doesn't understand much about the nature of consciousness.

a very good post @nomad-magus

Thanks for the advisory words past in this blog.

Now I have had a magic spell from @noman-magus; I am That I am. This spell will be a rote every time I wake up from a nightmare. Thank's @noman-magus for giving us the spell. @noman-magus is a spiritual teacher who has a scientific concept.

@nomad-magus I told you that i saw nightmares some night..
For this, I was going to a physiologist to advice ....and told me those three step to stop nightmares those are :::

One – the primary step is whereby the body begins feeling drowsy. This stage is wherever the transition of awake and asleep happens. Signals from the brain begin to bog down, whereas muscle activity continues to be robust however begins to weaken. most of the people expertise muscle jerking which acquainted feeling of falling.

Two– during this stage, eye movements begin to prevent. N2 is basically a amount of sunshine sleep. different physiological changes within the body embody the speed of the center rate. Body temperatures additionally begin to drop.

Three – The third step is additionally referred to as SWS or slow wave sleep. SWS sometimes presents slow brain waves typically referred to as delta waves. heaps of physical changes happen during this part. Core vital sign and pressure drop even a lot of. The body becomes immobile, sanctioning the body to sleep far better. fast eye movement additionally begins to fade out during this stage.

I don't read any actions to take here. Enlighten me if you wish.

I can't understand what can you say brother @nomad-magus??
I got hurt in my words ??

You mentioned that the doctor had suggested things you could do to get rid of your nightmares, but I don't find those suggestions in your comment 🤔

I am extreamly sorry brother...@nomad-magus
I could not help you..about this....

I like the concept about how a person sleeping at one place can be at different places quarrling , smiling , eating food , doing something crazy , moving to places where he has never been , being with your loved ones .....
Nightmares are the worst , even if a person is sleeping taking rest obviously having no motion at all ...his heart starts to beat faster ,faster enough to make him wake up...
I have been doing some research in dreaming myself and i came to know it is better to sleep while leaning on the right side...

Thank you so much for this post! I recently talked to my husband and told him that I have dreams, nightmares and often something that feels completely different. Even if my body looks sleeping, I don't feel like I am sleeping like I do when I dream of things that bothered me through the day, for example. I feel completely different and my consciousness and awareness "feel" and experience in such a different way than they do when I have "normal dreams". It's kind of impossible to express it in words.
I often had the feeling I am traveling different dimensions and I also had several out of body experiences.

Your post really gave me the goosebumps. But not because it sounds scary, but because I finally feel understood! Thank you so much for that!
I really appreciate your words, tips and the advice to write the "dreams" or experiences down, compare them and make notes on things that occure often or how often I visit the same dimensions and whether there are entities guiding me etc.

I indeed already learned a lot from these entities about myself and my spiritual path. To know that there are others experiencing "weird" but impressive things like that too, really helps me to become more secure in my journeys and helps me to believe what my intuition already knows for such a long time- what I experience when I fall asleep sometimes goes far beyond dreaming! (It started since I can remember. Even as a small kid I experienced psychedelic - other dimension- dreams and out of body experiences)

Thank you very much again!
Your post really was very helpful to me! :)

I wish you the very best :)

Much love and light!

Namasté

Thanks for your feedback and keep allowing your nocturnal excursions. I am sure they are magnificent.
👍☺️

Thank you very much :)
They indeed are magnificent, even if they can be very scary or disturbing sometimes. But that dosen't change the fact they are super interesting and I can learn a lot from my excursions! :)

Best wishes and a lot of wonderful nocturnal journeys to you! :)

Ohhh these nightmares, you can never run away from them, only we can hope that they dont come true..But they certainly are an indication of coming future

are u trying to scare me.... i hope all your nightmares come true :p

That is a great analysis

What could be the reason of having nightmares? I remember dreaming about me being inside a casket tho I don’t know the meaning of it adn they told me it means I’m gonna be dead if I didn’t woke up from it.

Who told you? When was the dream, how old were you?
