#MarchForTruth17

Leadership is one of the hardest things I try to define. The most basic explanation I can think of is the ability to emulate rational decision making. If you make the proper decisions, then others would follow your example; hence, the phrase "lead by example: I eventually used this model to try to make rational choices in life with the addition, make decisions on the premise, do the right things at the wrong times and the wrong things at the right times. This had been an excellent model to justify actions regardless of legal authority. Through using that model, I faced numerous hardships and learned that there is no inherent "right" or "wrong" decision; there is simply the ethical decision.

An example of an ethical decision I chose to make is to join the #MarchForTruth movement. I had followed Donald J Trump's actions for many years and nearly supported some of his political decisions. When I learned that there was a movement dedicated to unearthing the truth behind his victory, I decided to dedicate the maximum amount of focus and drive into the movement. During my drive for the movement, I had also made the decision to eliminate substance abuse and it had become incredibly difficult to continue advocating for the movement.

Every morning I wished I could turn back to substances, but I felt a higher calling to tell me not to return to substance abuse. I eventually gave into the cravings by replacing substances with alcohol, another reckless decision. Going through withdrawal and advocating for the truth became a strong dichotomy within my mind so after the march on June third I had admitted myself into a recovery program. Through making those decisions, however, the #MarchForTruth had enticed James Comey to testify, organizer Holly Figueroa O'Reilly raised legal questions over Trump's tweets and an appropriate investigation is underway. This movement is my crowning achievement, for in many ways it has baptized me into a new life. One of my key takeaways from participating in the movement is reiterating that there is no right or wrong decision: there is simply the most appropriate decision as driven by proper ethics.
