Stars Glow

Switch on the sky and the stars glow for you
Go see the world coz it's all so brand new
Don't close your eyes coz your future is ready to shine
It's just a matter of time before we learn how to fly
Welcome to the rhythm of the night
There's something in the air you can't deny...

Owl City: When Can I See You Again

Saving as a png ate my colours again. I really need a 16bit image format that browsers can understand.

This post also appears on my blog.

Sorry for no wips this time, fyn is still occasionally a moody little snowflake

Thanks for looking! ^_^

Nice one Ry. The blonde came out nice. Reminds me of Daenerys on GoT.

Thanks ^_^ From memory Daenerys is platinum blonde which I find as hard as black hair to shade! But once I master those I will feel like awesomeness on a stick XD

also I do so love shading long hair XD

Woohoo! This is a nice little comeback post! Even though some colors may have been eaten, it still translated well. Way to work on your perspectives. I like how you set the scene to be this tranquil night. All the emotions entailed with it make for a great time to indeed just look at the stars.

At first I thought you included your own poetry in there haha! The song choice is fine as well, not my first choice for the scene, but that'll do. Don't beat yourself up for being a moody little snowflake. We all have those moments. Every snowflake is unique and special in their own way :D

Last time I did poetry I was...in school. So about a million years ago XDAnd I haven't done any since. I haven't even done much in the way of long form writing which is where I started with all this storytelling malarky.

The song was actually the prompt, not something I picked to go with it :)

Glad it translated well, I'm just annoyed as the characters were a bit more defined as was the grass they're sitting on (and the lighting was tricky!) and there were more stars and colours in the sky. Png isn't really the best format for this kind of thing but I have to work in 8bit for it to save as a jpg and I haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaate 8bit these days. Totally spoilt rotten by 16bit colourspace. However I don't have the option for jp2 which apparently does support 16bit in Krita and png does. Even though it eats things. Ahh well. :)

You do homeschool your kids so technically you're back in school hahaha! It's never too late to get back to it! I feel it would really complement your artwork :D

^_^ alas poetry has never come naturally to me. It was easier when I was in school and didn't have as much to do in the grand scheme as I do now and had the time to dabble in all these interesting forms of storytelling. I feel like it would take too much time away from making all the assets I need to be telling all the stories currently banging inside my skull :S

But wouldn't it be cooler if your prompt was something that you have written yourself? :) Don't think too much about it. There's no such thing as ugly poetry :)

Oh totally. But that's not how my prompts work XD They're generally kind of random. Usually a line or so of a song or something that someone says will worm into my brain and then these things happen :)

We all have our processes! :) Me, I'm more of a visual prompt-ee
