Why Open Sourcing is Vital for AERGO
AERGO’s system is made of several constituent components tasked with specific operations as they have been designed. These components are progressively released according to the project’s timeline requirements. Notably, the project’s milestone timeline is up to date with both the Alpha and Beta versions of Aergo already released. The testnets are scheduled for release in the fourth quarter of 2018 (Q4 2018) to help detect flaws in the system before the release of the mainnet early next year. Aergo’s components are uniquely being designed to support open sourcing it the protocol’s development. This process involves allowing developers access to the protocol’s source code that they may understand, and develop the systems used in building the protocol.

Of the three elements of Aergo – Chain, Hub, and Marketplace, Aergo Chain is the first to be rolled out with Marketplace and Hub expected in Q4 2019. Aergo chain skeleton release was accompanied with a message from the management indicating the platform as open-source. This step by the management provides developers with first-hand access to the platform which they may develop to generate unique features to advance problem-solving abilities of Aergo. This move by Aergo’s developers is essential to the successful achievement of Aergo’s goal in these ways:

Growing Developers’ Community: Providing key systems of Aergo to the public allows more enthusiastic developers to join the community of developers to implement their ideas. In this way, the community grows to one large unit that provides numerous services to users through their unique innovations on the platform. By this large community, more potential end users are easily persuaded to join in the project and deploy the Aergo protocol in their blockchain systems.

Minimum flaws: With many brains comes even more ideas. A larger community of developers is more efficient in detecting problems that may otherwise arise within the protocol before serious damages are done on the platform.
