Storm Swallows City

in aerialphotography •  6 years ago

Saturday afternoon whilst enjoying our friends son's 4th birthday, Jaxon, there were some major storms in the works up in the air. It was easy to see there was a massive storm from the ground level, but the structure of the shelf cloud and subsequent rain column below was not visible from our angle on the ground, over the tree line.

The birdcam however, was able to get above the tree line to glimpse the raw power of nature once again. And wow was I blown away with the sight of the storm in frame. Needless to say, the rain eventually made it's way our direction and ended up drenching the area pretty well. The party went on, although we were confined to under an un-closed pavilion roof during the thunderstorm which lasted perhaps half an hour or more. It was a sweeping frontal storm.

My old places of federal indoctrination are visible in a lot of the photos looking toward center city, Reading Pennsylvania. Sure am glad to not have to be there now dealing with that crazy shit they teach our kids these days..

What happened to science?
