Kenny Omega talked about the AEW video game for consoles with WON.
"If, for whatever reason, I were to retire from wrestling tomorrow or next week, I would probably be looking for something in the video game arena, working in that industry to do something. It's always great to be involved in both, but video games are one of my biggest hobbies and passions".
"To be involved, not just in wrestling but in wrestling video games, it's really cool. Being so involved in a real project is something new for me and I'm taking it one day at a time. We have a great team and a great support system".
"I've never gone into any meeting or presentation feeling or acting like I know what I'm doing. I always make sure to ask everyone around me if my ideas or input contribute in a positive way".
"So far, we have a lot of cool stuff built into the game that I think fans are going to love. When they get their hands on this, I think they're going to have fun playing it. The outcome is positive".
"We're starting to work on more character models and not a lot of them are 100% complete. But when you see them come together and become more like the person they're supposed to be, and you see the wrestling engine, and how the fights start to flow into the game, and it starts with the naked moves, but then seeing the move sets that connect, and other systems that we're slowly incorporating into the game, it gets really exciting".
"One of the things that was cool about fighting games back in the day was that people of all kinds played fighting games, even if they weren't fighting fans. I hope the game will appeal to our hardcore fans and wrestling fans in general, but I also hope the game will appeal to people who are just having fun. That's what we're hoping for".
"So far, so good. It's going to be a process. It's not something we're going to rush. We plan to release it next year, but we can't commit to a specific date, just in case"
