Tell me about your upcoming project, Sis, He Wasn’t The One. What are you hoping for it to convey?

KIRBY: Sis, He Wasn't The One is a new initiative that takes you on a journey of being broken, reconciling, and returning to self-love. I'm referring to the fact that not every love storey is long, and that's fine. Just because you find someone who loves you for a season does not indicate they will love you for the rest of your life.

Last year, a lot of individuals were booed up going into quarantine. Maybe it was just my circle. Many people discovered love, and as the world gradually opened up, many people moved away from each other, saying things like, "Wow, we were just together too much, I need space, I need to find my own." “Boys II Men” is about a woman who expresses her dissatisfaction. KIRBY: I grew up in a little town, singing in a church where my cousins made up over half of the congregation. My first performance was in a church. "No, give me the mic!" I said to the older ladies in the front row when I was nine years old. Growing up in a tiny town was wonderful because it forced me to dream. In my music, I believe you can hear the Southern woman who desires to move out and experience the world. You can still taste the macaroni cheese and cornbread, as well as the warmth. That energy of "I don't know you, but I feel like I know you."
