Top 10 AFL Fantasy options between 200k - 300k. Don't overlook these Cash Cows

in afl-fantasy •  7 years ago

Hi all,

Welcome to my next blog where I am reviewing some of the best cheap Fantasy buys for the up and coming AFL season.

For this blog I am doing my top 10 Cash Cows between $200k and $300k.

cerr
10: A Cerra $262k Forward/Midfielder - Fremantle
Fremantle drafted themselves a ready made midfielder in Cerra at pick 5 in last years Draft.
Cerra was in the conversation for the number 1 pick a lot of last year and is described as a classy, strong, beautifully balanced Midfielder who also boasts a strong overhead mark.
Freo are screaming out for more Midfield depth but given they took Brayshaw at pick 2, Cerra will be unlikely to get ahead of him in the midfield pecking order early on.
I don't see Freo playing 2 kids in the midfield at the same time but I expect to see him get plenty of senior time on the half forward flank.

steee
9: J Stephenson $260k Forward/Midfielder - Collingwood
Was touted as a possible number 1 pick at last years draft such is the class of this midfielder.
Ended up sliding to 6 when doctors found a pre existing minor heart condition.
He was given the green light to play AFL and doctors assured him his condition would not affect his endurance at the top level.
He is a competitive animal and will be pushing for a spot in the Pies best 22 straight off the bat.
He already showed some of his competitive traits in the Pies AFLX matches the other night.
I know you can't read anything into AFLX form but he looked very comfortable.
Some real money to be made on this kid. Keep an eye on his JLT series.

dawson
8: J Dawson $255k Midfielder/Forward - Sydney
Dawson sneaks into this list because I think he will become a regular this season. Was a star in their NEAFL side last season and the Swans obviously rate him, as they have already re signed him until the end of the 2019 season.
He is a 190cm Midfielder who can play forward and has a booming left foot. I expect to see him make his case in the JLT series.

sett
7: W Setterfield $265k Forward/Midfielder - GWS
Former number 5 pick in the 2016 Draft and was a star Academy kid for GWS.
Setterfield is a 190cm beast of a midfielder in the mould of Bontempelli.
Injuries interrupted his first season but he did manage to get on the park twice for a high of 70.
This handy dual position player will be a big watch in the JLT series.

dow
6: P Dow $266k Midfielder - Carlton
Number 3 selection in last years draft is a ready made explosive on baller.
He is impressing in his first pre season at the club and will be a walk up start for round 1.
Looked very sharp in the Blues AFLX matches.
He will get plenty of opportunity at the Blues in his first season and will be a profitable option.

uniack
5: L Davis-Uniacke $264k Midfielder - North Melbourne
One of the best Cash Cow options of 2018 given he will slot straight into a young rebuilding Kangaroos team.
The number 4 pick overall in last years Draft was in the argument for number 1 all the way up until the last few days.
A contested ball king in the under 18's and is physically ready to play league footy at 187cm and 85kg.
Davis-Uniacke is going to be a powerful Midfielder for the club in time and I can't wait to see how he goes in the JLT Series.

bennell
4: H Bennell $249k Forward - Fremantle
Has recently done yet another dreaded calf injury although it is not a serious one and hopefully it only sets Bennell back a few weeks at most.
He has not got on the park in the last 2 years but makes this list based on the fact he is a prodigious talent and when fully fit, is one the most lively forwards in the game.
A lot of risk with picking him, but at a price tag of just $249k, the reward could be worth it.

bray
3: A Brayshaw $268k Forward/Midfielder - Fremantle
Was in a tug of war with Rayner for the number 1 pick in the Draft last year. A ready made classy Midfielder who will have no problems slotting straight into Fremantle's Midfield in 2018. Probably one of the safest Cash Cows you can grab this year and already looked very comfortable in the AFLX .

rayner
2: C Rayner $270k Forward/Midfielder - Brisbane
The number 1 pick in the 2017 draft is having a superb pre season at the Lions and will be a walk up start for their Round 1 team.
He will get stints on the ball throughout the year but I expect to see him learn his craft on the half forward flank.
Given Brisbane has such a young list he will have no problems cementing his spot in the best 22 and he already is turning heads at the Lions after an impressive showing in a recent intra club match.

ryan
1: L Ryan $220k Forward - West Coast
Mature age recruit who lit up the WAFL in 2017 and he was rewarded with a spot on the Eagles list.
West Coast rated him very highly and used their 2nd round pick (26) on him.
West Coast have drafted him with a view to him coming straight into the senior side.
If he performs in the JLT series a Round 1 spot will be his, so he is a must have slam dunk Cash Cow option.

Thanks for reading and I will be back with some more Fantasy Blogs as we work our way through the Pre Season.
