To be an African youth could be very terrific, but yet frustrating. The frustration of African youths can be felt in all ramifications. It will interest you to know that the population of African youths is always on the high and with no sign of retrogression. According to the USA census burea(international date base) the population of African youths aged 15-29 is aproimately 241million in 2010. it also claimed that 28percent of the population was below 25years.

One of Africa's problem has been getting to keep its teeming your population engaged. Despite efforts by African leaders to resolve this huge masqurade to Africa's development, they are still lagging behind in the melienyim development goal.

Despite all these efforts, world bank report of 2011 in the Tanzanian election of 2012 shows that 40% of the population who joined rebel groups and forces where due to lack of jobs.

Chronology of Typical African youth hunt for survival.

The quest for survival is not easy neither is the leaders in Africa making it easier for the youth population in Africa. Children who manage to survive rigorous birth processes with undereauiped hospitals usually end up being killed by mosquitoes, malnutrition, hunger, Aids, or unprecedented dieseases.

If you are lucky to survive above the age of 12, the quest for education becomes a mojor cause for concern especially for the girl child(Topic for another day).

If a child manages to be educated in Africa, there is no guarantee that the young man would be employed. In most cases they are grossly underpaid, according to the world bank report of 2015 it shows that most African youths earn below 2$ a day despite being the most educated generation of African youths.
What Are the Facts on ground?
In the streets of Lagos, youths still use bridges as their homes, in Onithsa youths overwork themselves, despite rapid economic development in Africa, youths could hardly afford a home in expensive Kigali, Casablanca, Pretoria. The worse cases;the youths are used and often over worked to build such cities for old hoags who are ready to sacrifice Africa's future for their comfort.

AFRICAN YOUTHS AND POLITICS

In all African countries, same leaders and age group has continued to emerge always. The youth population has being side lined and used as political rascals by the elderly. Such a pity that poverty has eaten deep into majoruty of African ican youths that they are so blind to their potentials.
Even in places where the youth population has decided to engage in politics little or no relevance is given to them. This mentality by African youths must stop. The role poverty and corruption has played can never be over emphasized.
African countries and its economies are still handled by the aging population who can not even understand the market trends and capitalization of today. A sad example is Nigeria where its minister of youth and sports is above 50. The minister of science and technology in Nigeria is also above 50 and could hardly understand the present jet world.

About a month ago Zimbabwe's president intended to make it a marriage affair (till death do us part).
African leaders are yet to understand that in bettering the odds of the country and Continent the youth has a major role to play.
Even if they do, they are yet to show it

AFRICAN YOUTHS AND MILITANCY

Jobless youths who feel they are not represented or have heavy resentment of government and its policies have taken up arms to make a statement to their stubborn leaders. Inmost scenery the leaders have also reacted to killing these youths with no second chance or even a fair hearing.
It is totally wrong to take up arms, however in most African communities, the actions and inactions of their elected citizens has given birth to increased terror in the region.
These is seen in Cameron, Nigeria, Niger, Rwanda, Libya etc.
These armed youths could have been avoided if only African leaders had done the right thing.
Sadly, some of these youths were remnant used for elections purpose and the arms where never retrieved by their political godfathers.

BRAIN DRAIN
Most of the useful hands whom would have boosted Africa are seen to exist within any given opportunity. (Including me). Little wonder why most African youths desires to die in the sea where the wind will blow them away thanvt be buried in a Continent where their father's and grand fathers has ruled and ruined it into a LIVING #hell.

They prefare to do menial jobs, in Europe, America, and some go into drugs in Asia, than to remain poor in a place where it seems all hope is lost.

I can tell you that most of my family memebers live in Europe and America and wants somevof us to come over...
I can't help but ask myself,if we all left who would remain?
