Ahsan Manzil is situated on the bank of the Buriganga stream in Old Dhaka, Islampur. It was before the castle of Nawabs of Dhaka. Right now it is utilized as a historical center. Its author Nawab Abdul Ghani . He named it after his child Khwaja Ahsanullah . Development of Ahsan Manzil started in 1885 and finished in 1872. In 1906, a choice was taken to set up a Muslim League. Ahsan Manzil was improved a few times. The most recent change has been as of late done. Presently it is a historical center worked by the National Museum of Bangladesh.

Amidst the eighteenth century, the proprietor of Jalalpur Pargana Sheik Enayetullah Ahsan Manzil, a place named 'Rangmahal', was made in the present place. Afterward, his child Rang Mahal sold it to a French trader. It was for quite some time known as the exchange cabin. Afterward, in 1835, Khwaja Alimullah, father of Nawab Abdul Ghani, living in Begum Bazar, began getting it. Nawab Abdul Ghani redesigned the royal residence in 1872. After the development of the new building, he named it Ahsan Manzil after the name of his cherished child Khwaja Ahsanullah. In 1897 , on twelfth June the tremor hit Dhaka because of substantial misfortunes of Ahsan Manzil. Nahabat Khan nearby Islampur Road along Barandas south of Ahsan Manzil is totally broken. Afterward, Nawab Ahsanullah modified it.
