I found the recent dip in the price of STEEM disheartening.

According to SteemBlockExplorer I have 900 STEEM POWER. Before the drop, my 100% upvote was worth $0.0055 .

Since SteemIt.com rounds up, my upvote would show up as $0.01. That made me happy. It made me feel like my upvote was worth something.

Although my upvote was worth only a quarter of the $0.02 needed for payout, my upvote was enough to sweep the dust of posts with only $0.015 worth of votes.

Today my 100% upvote is worth only $0.004. When I upvote a post, the display value is $0.00 once again.

Even though I have a minnow account, I feel like I am stuck in the plankton.

I Need Happy Thoughts

According to my Steemit Wallet my base upvote seems to be worth 0.011. I've been voting to maximize my the ROI on my upvote and made 1.71 STEEM last week.

Now for the positive thought:

1.71 / 900 = 0.0019.

Every STEEM that that I earn increases my weekly earnings by over 0.001 STEEM POWER!

Seven Years on STEEM

I am just under seven years on STEEM. My long term goal is to have an upvote worth $0.02.

I am only a fifth of the way there. I figure that it will take another 28 years to reach my goal!

But the price of STEEM might drop further. Even worse, the platform might disappear before I reached my goal

So, the best way to keep upbeat is to concentrate on the puffs of STEEM.

Every staked STEEM increases my weekly reward by 0.001 SP. That is something that actually registers in the system. I know have a happy thought again, and can learn to live off that happy thought.
