Very interesting thoughts, @nullscope. I've not put much thought into the automation of photography, but you're right that it is becoming simple to the point that common folk with little to no knowledge of photography can take fantastic photographs. I think that the two arts are now at a point where they are separate crafts. Digital and analog. I think that both have their own benefits and can be appreciated uniquely.
