Is Singularity About Immortality?
Singularitarians are the people who believe in life after death ...
that is the life in another body after the death of their previous body.
If that sounds crazy and outrageous, then you are probably not that familiar with the concept of singularity.
The video below presents a company called Psychesec, which aims to achieve human immortality through downloading consciousness into a "sleeve" and transforming it to a new carbon body.

Interesting point made by an actor of "Altered Carbon" movie, who made acute observation about "ultra-ruch becoming a different species" by using all the advances in medicine and technology not readily available to common people.
As technological advances far exceed advances in ethics, the fast increasing gap between technology and morality poses serious challenges not currently addressed, or even acknowledged.
The fascination of "the elite" with AI and deep learning stems from the following perspective:
What actually will happen is, the future will not be about AIs replacing masses and making the elite take total control over the world.
Rather, it will be the elite themselves who will be replaced by blockchain (since most of "the elite" are just middlemen engaging in rent-seeking), with the masses controlling AI to do their repetitive routine jobs, leaving all the creative work for humans.
Thus, I think it's not coincidental that along with the potential nightmare scenario of elitist AI world, came along this amazing technology of blockchain that completely turns the game upside down, enabling the use of AI for exclusively benign causes.
What do you think?
