I agree to your logic! Definitely students should have the freedom to learn from any source. However, a certain time should be given to develop their basic skills to perform a given task by their own. Just like we memorize the multiplication tables, and learn to calculate without using a calculator as a child.
It would be nice if we have a tool to detect whether the content is produced by an AI or not, and our debate will stop at the very point. But, I don't see that coming very soon for textual contents produced by an NLP.
