What is better an AEG or a GBBR airsoft gun

Todays post is going to help you decide if you should buy an AEG or GBBR or just know the difference between the two. I will be listing the advantages and disadvantages of the two types of airsoft guns.

AEG

AEG stands for automatic electric gun. These airsoft guns are powered by battery's that connect to the motor of the gun and or normally stored inside of the gun and sometimes depending what gun it can be stored on the outside of the gun. There are two main types of batteries that an AEG uses, These are lipo (lithium polymer) and NiMH (Nickel Metal Hydrate). I will go into more depth of the batteries in another post.

Advantages of an AEG

First of all these guns are very quite. Since it is a battery all you hear is a small sound coming from the gun. The weight of an AEG is normally quite light compared to a GBBR. To run the gun and maintain it is very simple, plug your battery in the night before what a few hours and done your ready for a full day of airsoft. The maintenance is also very simple. There is none. The only time it will need to be oiled is if the gun is taken apart.

Disadvantages of an AEG

There really are not alot of disadvantages to and AEG the only significant one would be if the battery runs flat then you will need another one just incase. That is a minor problem.

So in turn the advantages heavily over-weigh the disadvantages.

GBBR
GBB stands for Gas Blow Back Rifle. These types of airsoft guns are obviously powered by gas. Normally a pistol and some types of GBB rifles have gas filled mags but that is more common on a GBB pistol. Normally people that use GBBR use a gas tank either in there back pack or on a belt around there waist with a cable connecting to the gun. There are two types of gas. One is green gas and the other is co2.

Advantages of GBBR
These guns have an extreme fire rate compared to AEGs. The only other advantage I can think of would be that you can change your FPS of the gun.

Disadvantages off GBBR

First thing would be that you can change the FPS of the gun. I know i said it was an advantage but for that very reason alot of airsoft fields banned GBBR guns because they have a set FPS limit and you can change that on your gun whenever you feel like it so that puts other players at risk. The other disadvantage of GBBR is the fact that you are now dealing with a lot of seals and the maintenance for a GBBR is triple to what an AEG. Also a GBBR in the hands of a beginner is bad because they do not have any experience in gun maintenance and GBBR rifles are also extremely expensive compared to AEGs

So in my personal opinion do not buy a GBBR gun except for a pistol because a GBB pistol is the best side arm to have and it feels amazing. If you are a beginner buy and AEG as your first gun because all you will need to do is charge the battery, fill your mag with BBs and your sorted.

I hope this post was informative and gave you a better idea on what type of airsoft rifle to buy and also gave those who are just reading a better insight into airsoft guns. Have an awesome day.

I like GBBR a lot, because of the ammo capacity and kick. A battery in a replica and ammo capacity of 250 bb is not my thing.

I agree the kick on a GBBR is amazing. There isnt a better feeling the a full auto GBBR. The high caps i run are 450 bbs so i do not struggle with ammo but thank you very much for commenting and upvoting.

I am glad some one is posting about airsoft.

I did notice that airsoft is very dead on steemit and i am going to be trying my best to bring it back and i hope you can support me

i don't get it ? how gbbr can have more ROF then AEG . Cousin have AK74 with ROF 35 . I have APS UAR with no mods and with LiPO 11.1 batery it has 17-20 ROF .
HPA redline system can have ROF 40 . but there is not too many great mags that can feed over 40 .
