AirsoftSniper - Tree Bark Camouflage Project - Part 2 (The Stock)

in airsoft •  7 years ago

In Part 1 of the project I made a start with creating a Tree Bark camouflage on my Airsoft Sniper.

I started with the silencer to try it out. Yesterday I've modified the stock.

I started by sanding down the stock. You don't have to sand it a lot, just lightly will suffice. I had put some putty on the cover of the putty and added a bit of hardener.

I smeared the putty on the stock and created a nice layer. After smearing I teared through it with the plastic card that I used to apply the putty. It takes about 45 minutes or so to harden and then I did the same thing to the other side.

You might notice that I left some parts without putty but that's because i don't want it on the grip where I hold it.

When both sides were done and hardened I started sanding them. I had to be careful with picking it up because it's stings just like a cactus. I'm sanding it so it removes all the points that can break down. It would be a shame to see the grey putty again after I'm completely finished with it.

Here I had sprayed the entire stock matte black. After it dried up enough I continued spraying it with a brown color.

Personally , I think it's going to look like something. It's far from finished.
I'm going to do the same with the outer barrel, going to apply some green finishes on it and I have some dried moss that I'm going to try and apply on it.

Neat! What's the airspeed in FPS?

I've converted it to Co2 with a Mancraft system so I can set the amount of bar it shoots on.
500fps is the field limit here so I'm running it on aprox. 495 with 0.20gr bb's. (I'm playing with 0.36 / 0.40)

Okay that's impressive! That's exactly our limit here in The Netherlands as well. Minimum 30 ft. distance.

Oh hahahaha that's hilarious xD I don't check residency often ;)

Your style of art is very original and even your name "Timmminator" goes along with it. I give you much credit fro your originality and overall creativity.

Thanks! :)

nice !!!!!!!!!!

Thanks!

This makes me miss the good ol' days. Shootin each other with plastic bb's going 100ft/s without any protective eye wear. So much character building.

There's nothing like a good shot with 500fps on the eyes from a distance lol

That looks awesome! On a real rifle I would leave a patch smooth for a good cheek weld. Recoil would grate your face like parmisan cheese. Lol. But that effect is amazing!

If it would have such recoil I would definitely leave a smooth patch. Parmisan cheese... lol!
I converted this one to run on gas for a bit smoother bolt pull since I have a chronic pain that's also in my arms. It's currently preventing me playing but it leaves me some time to do stuff like this.

I also have diy mesh leaf-suit on the agenda. Ghillies are killing me with the heat from halfway spring to halfway fall haha

It's starting to look like something indeed!

I'll be on the lookout for part 3.

You should also post about your self made ghilly.

Part 3 is coming but that's probably going to be somewhere around friday because I have to work late most of the week.

I don't believe I have any photo's from making my ghillie. But I am planning of making a bush/leaf suit though.
