Have you heard of Akasha? The Steemit killersteemCreated with Sketch.

This platform penciled for release Q4 2017 is supposed to be a competitor to Steemit with it's current 210K accounts and $461 Million market cap, and more transactions in a day than Bitcoins existence. Can it overtake Steemit and do a huge ICO Pump? It can definitely do a huge ICO pump for sure.

I came across this plate while on my travels in Bretagne (Brittany) France and it reminded me of how nice the plate looks, the promise of usefulness but how long something can take to make and be broken instantly.

Here is the original image of the plate in a display cabinet for all to see and hopefully where it stays unless someone wants to use it as an actual plate :)

From what I have learnt about the network -

  • 3 second transaction times, it will literally take 3 seconds to upvote or post a comment. Too fast too furious lol
  • You must pay for each transaction because of the gas fees on the Ethereum network, the Ethereum token has been mooning lately. Pricey!

Is it possible the making of the plate is quicker than a blog post on Akasha during peak periods?

Check out https://akasha.world/ for more information, competition is good, but in my opinion there will be difficulty onboarding people when Steemit is rocking and rolling already and is far in the lead.

What do you all think will you try it?

Update 22/06/2017 : Ethereum has backlog transaction problems

Thanks for the article! This is the first time when I hear about Akasha.
Sounds interesting. We will see what will happen. Maybe doing (participating in) both of the platforms at the same time is the best choice. The keyword is diversification. The crypto world can make great surprises. I will follow the events. All the best! Have a nice day!

Thanks for stopping by, glad you found this post useful.

I think having to pay for transactions might be Akasha's downfall. Steemit needs a good competitor though.
