7-Day Music Challenge: Your Top Albums - #3 The Division Bell

At home, Pink Floyd listened to us quite often. With our father we've been listening to such gems as Dark Side Of The Moon, Wish You Were Here or The Wall. Over the following years, they have also released decent works, but they have not taken me so much.

I have long waited for their next good album. It took long. But the result was worth it. The Division Bell captivated me with the first listening.

Tenkrát se u nás doma hráli Pink Floyd poměrně často. S otcem jsme poslouchali takové skvosty jako Dark Side Of The Moon, Wish You Were Here nebo The Wall. V průběhu dalších let vydali také slušná díla, ale žádné mě tolik nezaujalo.

Dlouho jsem čekal na jejich další pecku. Dávali si na čas. Ale výsledek stál za to. The Division Bell mě uchvátilo hned při prvním poslechu.

The band showed that even without Roger Waters it still goes. For the first time, and for the last time, David Gilmour won the Grammy Award for the Marooned.

Kapela ukázala, že i bez Rogera Waterse to stále jde. David Gilmour dokázal poprvé, a zatím naposledy, získat cenu Grammy a to za skladbu Marooned.

With the excellent saxophone, interesting accompaniment vocals and a peaceful atmosphere, I caught the following song Wearing The Inside Out.

Výborným saxofonem, zajímavými doprovodnými vokály a poklidnou atmosférou mě chytla následující skladba Wearing The Inside Out.

The last sample is also the final song of the album. I think that High Hopes is a good finish.

Poslední ukázka je i závěrečnou skladbou alba. A myslím, že High Hopes je výborné završení.

The band supported the album with her tour. In 1994 she also visited the Czech Republic. The duties did not allow me to take part.

Kapela absolvovala k desce turné. V roce 1994 zavítala i do České republiky. Povinnosti mi nedovolily se zúčastnit. Do dneška mě to mrzí.
