We will all live like Tony Stark soon...and that's awesome!

As developments like chatbots, Alexa, IoT, blockchain and A.I. grow, it’s now too far off to say that we will all have the capabilities of Tony Stark in the near future.

Tony Stark is undoubtedly one of the most dynamic Marvel characters to exist. So, what gives him the ability to defeat any of his enemies? The answer is JARVIS.
JARVIS is an Artificial Intelligence platform on Mr. Stark's private servers and satellites that operates and caters to his whole existence. It operates his Iron Man suit, reads back maintenance data on his suit, can take commands and communicate via voice or visual interface, and can also tell other bots in Stark's lair what to do and build. Now, the actual tech behind JARVIS runs much deeper than this but let's leave it here for the time being.

JARVIS was designed by Stark to be a machine learning device. That means it retrieves information from places like the internet and its conversations with Stark to learn habits, behaviors, knowledge and routines. Like humans, JARVIS only gets smarter with the more data it can internalize. And like JARVIS, machine-learning is something we are seeing in new products more and more.

I believe that Amazon Alexa is going to be the system to fully carry us to the point of everyone having access to their own personal JARVIS. The unique ability that Alexa has is that she learns from everyone who communicates to her, and as developers create more Alexa compatible applications and devices, she will have more capability. Chatbots will also help us communicate better with machines. I think that these two will tie together other developments like IoT devices (smart lights, remotes, etc.) along with A.I. in a way that multiple devices communicate with each other over one network. And, this is where blockchain ties in. A distributed ledger for your home and all of its devices to operate under one “network” (for lack of a better term) would allow a platform such as Alexa to tie these devices together in a way that allows all devices to communicate with one user all at once. At the same time all of these devices could then be sharing data with each other because they had been validated through the blockchain and could then use all of this data to make Alexa or any other machine-learning device even smarter.

Am I crazy to think this is too far off? We already see evidence of things going this way. So why not? I don’t know about you but I would LOVE to be able to act like a superhero.
