At 13, Ren was discovered as a model for the Brandy Melville label. She became a social media phenomenon at 15, when her bikini photos with a black string posing by the pool went viral on Tumblr. She has since appeared in a series of commercials for the mobile game Final Fantasy XV: A New Empire. He launched an activewear line called Ren Active. Ren was named "Rookie of the year" in 2018 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit magazine. On September 12, 2018, Ren announced that they would compete in Dancing with the Stars season 27. His professional partner was Alan Bersten. Ren and Bersten reached the final and finished fourth on November 19, 2018.
She was on the cover of Maxim magazine for August 2017 and March 2018, and in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue in 2018. She was included in the list of the sexiest women in the world in Maxim magazine in 2019.
In October 2019, she starred as "Scarlet Jones" in Ed Sheeran's "South of the Border" music video.
