Hello steemians today I will be participating on this steemit learning challenge hosted by @khursheedanwar titled equation and inequalities
• Task 1
• Explain difference between linear and quadratic equations. Provide examples of each type of equation and describe their general forms by. |
---|
Linear equations are seen as algebraic equations which it's highest degree is equal to 1 in any variable and this mean that there is no variable that is greater than 1 or should I say +1. linear equations can be expressed in various forms like 2x-3=0.
While
Quadratic equation on the other hand is an algebraic expression or equation which is composed of variables coefficient and even interger exponent . Quadratic equation are simply in degrees of 2 in standard form.
Example rs²+bx+y=0.
• Task 2
• Describe two different types of inequalities(Which are not explained in course). Provide examples of each type of inequality and explain how to solve them. |
---|
1 Quadratic inequalities this set of mathematical expression or equation which involves a polynomial set of inequality sign against it.
Steps to solve a a quadratic inequality
1 Rearrange the inequality, with this you have to put the equation in the form which you will like to use in solving it either it be in standard form or in graph method.
2 Find the roots when you are finding the roots of a quadratic inequality you will set the expression to be equal to zero and then you solve.
3 Test the intervals to check the needed correction and amendment to know the places that need correction or further solving.
4 Write down the solution and have your answers.
2 RATIONAL INEQUALITIES. It involves the ratio of two polynomials which can be represented as
f(y)
—
z(x) compared to the value
To solve a rational inequalities these few things should be observed.
1 Identify the critical points this means that you have to set the numerator and denominator to zero just to find the critical value.
2 Determine intervals. This means that you will need to use the critical points to divide the line numbers to some intervals.
3 Test intervals: pick the points tested from each of the intervals to determine and satisfy the inequality if they do.
Lastly write down the solution and combine the intervals that meet the inequality noting the condition if the end points are included or used based on the type of inequality used either strict or non-strict .
• Task 3
• Solve the following linear equation: 2x + 5 = 11.Show step-by-step solution and share its practical example of how this equation can be applied in real life scenario.
(You are required to solve this problem at paper and these share clear photographs for adding a touch of your creativity and personal effort which should be marked with your username)
• Task 4
Scenario: Tom's Bakery
Tom's bakery is a most famous bakery of tow and it's famous for its yummiest pastries and bread. Tom which is owner want for making sure that he has sufficient ingredients for meeting needs for his famous chocolate cake and chocolate cake recipe needs 2 cups of flour, 1 cup of sugar and 1/2 cup of cocoa powder for each cake.
Equation If Tom wants for making x cakes and he has 10 cups of flour, 8 cups of sugar and 4 cups of cocoa powder then calculate number of cakes that can be made by Tom?
Inequality Tom wants for making sure that he has sufficient sugar for meeting needs for his chocolate cake. He also knows that each cake needs 1 cup of sugar and he has 8 cups of sugar which are available. He also knows that he wants to make at least 6 cakes.
Solve for equations and inequality both from above scenario
(Solve the above scenerio based questions and share step by step that how you reach to your final outcome)
To know the amount of chocolate cake which tom can bake
To determine the amount of chocolate cake which tom can bake we set up the equations according to the ingredients needed per cake 🍰.
Ingredients per cake
Flour: 2 cups
-Sugar: 1 cup
-Cocoa powder: 0.5 cups
Available ingredients
Flour: 10 cups
Sugar: 8 cups
Cocoa powder: 4 cups
With the ingredients available the calculation are as follows

• Draw any type of calculator (Choose any calculator from course and draw it at paper)
With this I have come to the end of this post I will now like to call on @anthony002 @chiagoziee @onomzy001 and @bonaventure24 to also take part in this contest

Hello friend, check the 4th task please, since it was changed, I think that drawing a scientific calculator no longer goes, on the contrary it was changed to an algebraic exercise.
