OK, I'll keep my answer to this thread, as I don't want to mess up your comment section on the article you linked.
Right, first of all this so-called interview, has done nothing to convince me of its validity, and the overall validity of claims like these; and I'll tell you why.
The writer does nothing that good science fiction writers do; and in fact have been doing for years. In fact, the way the spaceships are described, remind me of a sci-fi I read years, and years ago; which I wish I could remember the title.
In fact it was a series; anyway I digress, in that story, the space ships were connected to their users in a kind of pseudo-psychic way, and the ships could open up rips in the continuum, in order to travel great distances.
Anyway, the main problem I have with the whole description of the ships, is not once does he say how to make one. He talks of materials, in the loosest sense of the term.
At no point does he say, we use X material, with Y process, to build these machines. Everything is vague, and unverifiable; if for instance he gave details, and actual physical laws that we could recreate, then I'd be a lot further down the road to being convinced (not there, just further down the road).
Then this bit
Imagine if you will a single sheet of fabric. Each thread in the fabric is closely related, this is a linear version of a magnetic grid. Now place many layers of fabric together, you now have a three dimensional block of fabric. The threads are interwoven, directional. How does one move from within the vertical structure to the horizontal levels?
In this scenario, the fabric is of a physical nature, but if the fabric is of an energetic nature, then there is a strong matrix of threads between all layers. This means, in a physical universe, a craft can manoeuvre forwards, backwards, diagonally and sideways. The craft are moving on "etheric rails". They are drawn into the craft and used as a "matter of state" propulsion process. These "rails" are of a nature that the craft can move in any direction as it is using the matrix, like a tractor beam. The craft is taken, "pulled", in the direction it wishes to go. Imagine a container of water in a cube form; can a fish swim in any direction? This is the same process. The matrix is a living field.
I mean, this is straight out of an Iain M. Banks novel, apart from the fact that a being who was constantly used to travelling in space, would not use terms like diagonally, seeing as that concept doesn't exist when you're in freefall. I just think that this is cobbled together from the person's subconscious.
I don't believe that this person is out to deliberately deceive, I just think that while they genuinely believe they are being contacted. It is actually their own subconscious speaking to them.
I would suggest they start writing some science fiction; or asking for proof that's less vague.
Something along the lines of;
"Hey Mr. Gray, people down here on earth don't believe me, and it's getting a little frustrating. Because to my mind, you're telling me all these wonderful things, however I have got not, one shred of evidence to take to my leaders, and show them the error of their ways.
You seem pretty enlightened, and I'm assuming you're communicating with some of us, because you want us to be enlightened too.
So, give me something, you know what we have here on earth, give me a formula, that no earthly scientist could possible know. Or answer a previously unanswered question, like Hilbert's Problem.
*Better yet, tell me how to synthesise something, that would just damn prove to these guys, that it's not all in my head. *
Personally, I think the best thing would be to answer a few unanswered problems, and then show me how to build a star drive. That way, when people ask me, how the hell do you know this stuff; I will give credit to you.
Oh, last thing; tell us where you are! It's not like we can visit you, but just point out to us, so that we can point our telescopes there, and I will tell SETI, which again, will prove to these doubters, that you are REAL!
What do you say?"
Right, so if the answer is along the lines of; the human race hasn't grown up enough; etc. etc. Then I'm afraid, as far as I'm concerned, this is not real.
If however, he suddenly answers mathematics questions, that people at MIT and around the world have been trying to answer for at least a century, then, I, and many people around the world, will sit up and listen.
OK, last point, because I've really waffled on here, the reason why I don't believe any alien stories I ever hear. Is because they all rely on a paradox that you just can't get around.
The aliens are technologically advanced to get, or communicate with here; yet when they do, they are then a bit crap. They have all these restrictions on what they can and can't do.
Like they get captured, or need stone pyramids to land, or can't do this or that, even though they have traversed the galaxy, and possibly the universe.
OK, so what do you think? I've tried to be fair, and also honest, I hope I haven't offended you, however I think debate like this is healthy :-)
You haven't offended me at all! I would never get riled up while discussing anything as long as all parties respectfully state their arguments. There's no need to think so egocentrically as to end up trying to "convert you to my religion" (can't think of a better analogy) by getting angry, yelling and spitting in the face of those near me. I believe that those who try to ridicule others by attempting to make them look ignorant or stupid just because their opinions differ, are simply portraying these qualities on their own.
I'm not mad at all, in fact you just earned a follower without intending to. If this is the way you usually conduct yourself, then I'm definitely interested in your blog no matter what it is about. I must say however that it seems you might have misunderstood my point. Please don't believe I run down the street naked and waving a flag that says I WANT TO BELIEVE, or better ALIENS ARE HERE. Actually like I've said before I'm not even sure I believe that aliens are down here on earth or that we have even made contact with another race. I have, however, experienced a great deal of strange phenomena at night, back when I couldn't even sit and listen to someone talk about E.T's without being able to stop my ears from bleeding in agony and so I would excuse myself in some way so that I didn't have to participate in a conversation I wasn't interested in. These events are what made start trying to find an explanation, but every time I described it to Google, it would give me results on this particular subject. This is how I stumbled with William Treurniet's site (after much looking for a different answer) and then noticed that he was actually seducing my imagination, I'm a sucker for sci-fi. I thought the same would happen to other Steemians, but I made sure to state these were "alleged" interviews.
Dude, I don't even have an argument, I never had I simply shared this content. I'm not as passionate a sceptical like you; however I enjoy your arguments. They're very detailed and with a fair degree of respectfulness.
Sorry I didn't reply earlier, I was asleep.
By the way a deal's a deal and I will deliver, however it doesn't feel like I lost a bet, I want to see what you've been posting and debating.
-Best regards
