Are Octopuses alien?

Yup. I think they partially are. The naysayers can say what they want :-) this animal can literally modify its own genetic code on the fly. A large amount of its genetic code is different than any other known species on earth. Unless there are a series of missing links in the deep ocean, these animals sound pretty alien to me.
