Using the Hubble telescope, astronomers had been looking for any glimpses of life in the distant world.
And the latest results from the Hubble Information Centre have suggested that the outer planets of the system may harbour floods of water, needed to support life.
Team member Dr Amaury Triaud, said: "Hubble's observations are of great significance, since they inform us on the irradiative environment of the TRAPPIST-1 planets, notably on whether they can remain habitable for billions of years, like Earth has.”
Following their discovery, NASA gave space enthusiasts an amazing look at what life could be like o these new planets.
