If you had a UFO providing power, food and everything you need for free, while letting you travel anywhere in the universe ... Would you stay in your apartment? ... Would you keep your job?
Probably not. Rather than living and working with strangers, in a stressful, competitive environment, the majority would probably prefer to travel with family and friends ... Right?
So, why wouldn't that be true for any aliens as well?
I guess we observe no large civilizations in space, because they all disintegrate at a certain technological state, to become small independent space-tribes, scattered all over the place.
