Welcome to apartment complex Lakeside Hill. You pay rent and from that rent everything is provided to keep the house clean, nice and running. Lakeside Hill works like small village, it has school, a daycare and even a doctor in the house. Your life is the best it could be.

Some strange people from the outside walk in and start a camp in the hallway. Some of your neighbors are goodhearted and let them stay. The newcomers ask for housing because they are people in need. They are allowed to move in one of the empty apartments.

Soon Lakeside Hills residents' committee conclude that some of the rent should be allocated to the wellbeing of the newcomers. It was decided that the newcomers get food, doctor services and the apartment for free. Those of who make objections where branded racist.

Years pass, and the newcomers still don’t try to communicate with the other residents, they don’t even speak the same language. Before long the newcomers gave birth to baby’s and the committee concluded these are full residents of the housing complex and need to be provided for from the rent with daycare and school. Those who objected in the first place are shunned even further if they start to speak up again.
“Think of the children. Who can such an evil person live here?”

The word starts to spread outside the house. “Come here we care for the people in need.” and not long after there where even more people in the hallway demanding a place to stay. Not many had the courage to speak against the newcomers anymore but there was still Peter a old man who had lived here for over 30 years. He sees that his livelihood is at risk and still speaks out. “No! We cannot let them in anymore. We don’t have the capacity to care uncrate full people who don’t bring anything to the house. We cannot let this go on” -Argued Peter. But nobody listens to him.
“We don’t have anymore empty apartments to give them. So let’s build a whole new house so we can help them even better” -Said Alice one of the committee chairmen.

Almost all agreed, and Lakeside Hill took a lone of Half a million euros to build a new house. One of the newcomers Ahmed learned to speak English and wanted to get in to the committee so he can speak for his people. Alice agreed straight away. But Peter was against it

“Give a Man a Fish, and You Feed Him for a Day. Teach a Man To Fish, and You Feed Him for a Lifetime. If you plan to feed man indefinitely, you cannot give the man, the right to choose how much fish you have to give him.”

“How can you be so cruel?! Its not about the money it’s about helping people!” – Said Alice
“It’s not your money you are spending.” – Peter said calmly

The newcomers keep coming each month a couple more. Sooner than later the first crimes start to appear. Ahmed say “it’s not the culprits fault that they make crimes. Try to understand them. They feel unsafe and unwelcome. Maybe if you could give us more stuff they would stop” So it was decided to pay the newcomer 200€ in cash each month, so they had money to spend.

“This is madness and has to stop now! Close all the doors! Only the rightful residents are allowed to move in and out.” – Peter argued
“But there are already so many we take care for. We cannot be so heartless that we ignore the others in need. “– said Alice
It was decided to keep to doors open. Everyone was welcome to live at Lakeside Hill.

Years went by. With his last pleading Peter requested that there would be and inquiry about how much it costs to “help” all these people.
Alice was furious “That’s racist and inhumane! You can not calculate the cost of this!”
At this point Ahmed had so many of his friends already in the committee that those who started to see things like Peter didn’t have enough votes to commission the study in the costs of helping.

More and more people moved in to Lakeside Hill to be taken care of buy the original residents. Crime and unrest kept growing at Lakeside Hill. Each time when someone spoke up why things are so bad it was always the original residents fault because they were not welcoming enough and did not give enough money and services to the invaders. Anyone who dared to object was silenced with fines and discipline.

Everything was nice at the apartment complex Lakeside Hill.
