Here you will see some of the stats I've been getting in my adventures as a first time GPU AltCoin miner.
I first started learning about cryptocurrency mining last year 2016 and even purchased a 1 Gpu mining rig and at that time I started or wanted to start mining Ethereum.
But, I ran into some issues with the ubuntu software and mining apps the rig seller had installed, job situations and family obligations which caused me to put the rig aside and left it there taking up dust.
Last month my doctor told me I had to leave my type of work, which requires a lot of typing daily and that I've been doing for the last 17 years or so, and that I needed to look for something else less wrist demanding. (I wrote this post taking breaks in between because of the pain)
I had been brainstorming about high revenue, low maintenance, future inspiring business options and I remembered about my old rig. I went to the exchanges and noticed all the spikes that had been going on and really regretted not holding the Dash, ETH, Bitcoin and Monero I had purchased the year before, and I remembered how I wanted to start mining before and so on.
I cleaned up the old rig, got myself to reading and purchased a ethOS software usb stick from gpushack.com . I loved how they gave instructions on how to mine the different coins and saw it as the best option to start mining.
I did my due diligence research wise and noticed that for small rigs ETH is not an option any more and looked at Monero as the first option to start mining because I believe in their technology and still had some coins that gained value. They were also mineable and the ethosdistro knowledge base has information on how to mine it.
I mined Monero for like two days but saw that it was really slow to mine with my small rig and that dwarfpool doesn't start paying the XMR until I have a 2.00 balance, so I'll continue with them later to get the amount that I already mined with them.
The next coin I mined was Zcash, the ethosdistro showed how to write the code, well sort of because I had to do some research online to find the coding specifics in order to make my miner work. Zcash I mined at first through dwarfpool, but I did some research and started mining with Zcash.flypool.org which has a bigger amount of miners and it's a pool I already read was great for mining ETH.
I mined tZcash through flypool.org for a couple of days until I saw that it is a somewhat volatile coin and I decided to instead start mining Zclassic through Suprnova.cc , I just started mining today 5/31/17 and have been mining for 2 hours and 51 minutes, so I'll let you know in a couple of days how it goes.
Also, as you're probably doing, I've been mining through steemit.com by posting, upvoting, replying and being involved.
