Good morning, Steemians!
I wanted to give an update on my current Crypto portfolio as I’ve radically changed it. I’ve gotten completely out of Litecoin. Let me explain. I bought most of my Litecoins at around the $150 price and so I’ve made a pretty penny.
But really, the main reason I’ve gotten out of Litecoin and Ethereum is because I have found some other coins which I think will seriously outperform Litecoin. The first one is Digibyte.
If you’re not familiar with Digibyte, it’s block time is 15 seconds, compared to BTC’s 10 minutes and LTC’s 2.5 minutes. It has 5 mining algorithms instead of just one like BTC and LTC. It’s more secure than both of the other two. The supply is 1,000 times that of BTC. Now, you could say that this is a downside, but I truly believe Digibyte is a superior technology to both BTC and LTC. Oh, did I mention it’s only 6 cents right now?
I really dove into Digibyte after seeing what John McAfee had to say about it. He had been choosing his “Coin of the Day” and tweeting about it. Yesterday, he said he would be limiting that to a “Coin of the Week,” starting next week.
The second coin I’ve heavily gone into is of course Steem. I’ve put what I have in my Steem Power into the pie chart below.
Next, we have Verge. Verge has been touted as being “the best privacy coin” by many people, and it’s just at 17 cents. Having been really into Monero, I figured if this were true, I could really get a bunch at a fraction of the price of Monero.
Finally, Tron. Tron is a coin based on a free database of media, if I’m not mistaken. It’s currently trading at 3 cents.
My current portfolio
These are the 4 Cryptos I’m going to focusing most of my time into in 2018, most likely dollar cost averaging into them until I reach my targets for each coin.
I will update whenever I make significant changes in my portfolio! I have decided to stop putting out the dollar amount of my portfolio because I see possible negative effects of doing so. Hope you all understand. Thanks for stopping by!
I have a very good feeling about Verge. Aloha!

Good info, I'll be checking these coins out for myself. Which wallets would you recommend for them?

DGB has its own wallet you can get from Chrome it's called Digibyte Go. The other ones I hold in Binance wallets and Steem I have here on Steemit.

Cool thanks, I've been a bit scared by horror stories of holding coins on exchanges, so I've mainly been getting coins that can be stored in Exodus. But maybe safety has gotten better since the Mt.Gox stories...?

I think it has. I am skeptical of keeping a lot of money on exchanges too, but I'm getting used to it. I hate sending coins back to trade if I have to. I have my main stash off the exchanges and then probably 10% on exchanges. Hope this helped!

Interesting picks! Currently I also have some DGB, should be able to grow faster than the rest ;-)
I'm curious if you are aiming for certain relative positions within your portfolio. I like exchanging ideas about this and tweak my own approach: https://steemit.com/cryptocurrency/@cryptotem/the-70-30-cryptocurrency-investing-portfolio-approach-updated-v1-2
Let me know what you think!

I think I do this kind of without even thinking about it lol. I usually have my core and then usually about 10% that I consider play money. But with trading, sometimes that "play money" can become a bigger percentage or smaller, depending on if it's low (I buy).

I dumped by Verge at $0.19 (bought at $0.02). Think I'll need to pick up some for the future.
Digibyte is interesting. Have to look into it going into the new year.

Good on you for that good trading. Yeah it's been pretty volatile lately due to what John McAfee did or did not say about it lol. I'm buying the dips and trading the highs. I'm getting good at trading between XVG and DGB but I just wish DGB were on Binance. Strange that it's not.

Yeah, I just noticed that. It's on Bittrex which is good enough for me.
Verge is at $0.19 right now. Need that to dump some more and I'll get back in. I like McAfee's list, just got to HODL and stay away from the P & D.
