I was 19 moving from home to attend a big university in the south of Romania, the biggest one I could find on the subject of my interest. I used to listen grunge and trash metal as those where very popular among my highschool friends so I somehow adopt them. I moved to a student home (4 people sharing one room in bunk beds with cockroaches as pets) and after my first week there I went to an underground independent rock pub close to the main square in the centre. There I heard a new type of rock that was really speaking to me and I had a crush on my first alternative band that is the subject of today's post.
They are called dEUS and one of the best ever albums (at least to me) was - The ideal crush. I met there my future boyfriend and I used to find it funny that he was indeed for a long time (around 8 years) my ideal crush.
The second song I love is from the same album and is named - Instant steet and is the song that at that time inspired my to first smoke mj :) So hard to forget still, even though I am not inspired anymore to do the same.
Last one for tonight on my teen youth top of alternative pleasure was - Fall on the floor man from the In a bar under the sea album that was released in 1996 just 2 years before I discovered them.
The band is born in Belgium and I haven't listen them for a long time. I even realized they have released an album in 2014 that I had no idea of.
I really appreciate this new tag #alternativeweekend as is bringing back some old music. I liked the discovery journey and the fact that they are still on the market even though I abandoned them for some other rock styles.
