Family ; My Entry For Altruistic Creative Writing Contest #11

There are more than 7 billion people in the world spread between the seven continents, divided among different countries in each continents,from each country ,comes the different ethnic groups which is primarily made up of families. In other words, we can simply say family is the bed rock of our identity. everyone on planet earth comes from a family irrespective of status and gender; on this bases, it categorically authenticate the saying “….No man fell down from heaven to live on earth”. Even the greatest man that ever lived on earth who is most talked and sang about,hardly no day passes without his name mentioned JESUS CHRIST came from a Family.
On the contrary, anyone who says He/she wasn’t born into a family is just telling the best lie of all time. However, carefully looking at likelihood situations, it's possible anyone can currently don't have a family due to unfortunate circumstances like death, genocide. These are the two possible scenarios that can completely wipe out a family out of the surface of the earth but every human being must or originally be born into a family.

WHAT IS A FAMILY

I can simply say family are people who are related by blood directly or indirectly and must be made up of a father and Mother.(Not too common definition isn’t?)
Back in elementary school I believe you were taught there are different types of family.right?
So let take a look at it now

TYPES OF FAMILY

I. NUCLEUS FAMILY:- This is a family that is made up of just A Father mother and children

II. EXTENDED FAMILY :- This is a family made up of other members of the family who are either directly or indirectly related by blood . For instance a family becomes extended family with cousin (s) nephew, niece, uncle(s),aunties,grand parents.

These are the once that is popularly taught however; I want to go further by adding others

III. SOCIAL FAMILY:- In this kind of family,people might not necessary be related by blood but pursing a common interest for the good of every member. Furthermore, the head of this type of family is commonly selected or elected to lead within a stipulated period which is carefully written down in blue and white which I can say is a constitution or rules/regulations that every member adhere to.

IV. RELIGION FAMILY:- This type of family is very common in our society. Man has a super natural deity In which He believes in and worship as his god. Now every one who joins a particular religion automatically becomes a family member of that religion. moreso, to belong to this family is by choice and not by compulsion. For Instance, it is very common to hear somebody say ” I am a CHRISTAIN and I belong to family of this (i.e the name of the church)”

WHY IS FAMILY IMPORTANT

I. Belonging to a family can not be overemphasized; one of its crucial importance is that it gives a sense of belonging. It shows your root and ethnicity.

II. Family gives Identity; as we all know your surname is normally links you to the family you come from. As a matter of fact,without a surname one can lose his/her privileges and it is assumed your identity is not complete because there is no surname. On the reverse, family name can create favour and privileges as the case maybe especially if you belong to a family that is royal,popular,wealthy and politically inclined within a community.

III. Family members stays around and gives support when there are challenges especially in the case of death,marriage and dedication of any sought. You see, best friend can desert you whenever there are challenges But family members won’t abandon.

There are much more importance of a family but let’s just may do with above three points.

HOW TO BE A MEMBER OF A BIOLOGICAL FAMILY

Anyone can become member of a family from the following point
a. By birth
b. By adoption
c. By naturalization (not very common)

Without missing words, family is our root,Identity and determines the language we speak. I am from a very good family, proud of it and it authenticates my originality and culture what about you..!
