Altruistic Community Contest #1: Mum-In-Law is in critical condition

I woke up this morning still feeling a little drowsy due to lack of sleep last. I was in the Hospital last night for two hours with the family members of my wife to visit her very ill mother. We were summoned by the Doctor of the hospital to visit her at late night. You can imagine the seriousness, right?

Here was what happen .......

On Friday morning on 6 April 2018, my son and his aunty send her mother to the hospital for a check-up as she was not well. Normally it is a long wait at a government hospital for outpatient, so my son decided to send his grandma by an ambulance which goes straight to the emergency clinic. They arrived in the morning, managed to get immediate attention with the nurses there but have to wait for hours for a doctor to come for a series of examinations as doctors were too busy with too many patients in the wards. My mum-in-law was finally admitted to the ward for further diagnosis. But it was almost 10 hours.

My wife and I have planned to visit my mum-in-law on Saturday during visiting hours as the hospital is very strict on compliance. But at about 10.30 pm on Friday night, while I was chatting in the Altruistic discord, my wife received a phone call from her sister to inform her to go to the hospital immediately. I stopped my chatting with the Altruistic members and went to the hospital with my wife and son who drives.

It was at 30 minutes journey from home and while on the way, I wrap up my chat with Altruistic members and go to the hospital with a heavy heart. I own mother left us in May last year and I could understand how my wife feels about her mother right now.

Traffic was smooth maybe due to late night and we arrived the hospital at about 11 PM. The usual jam-packed parking lot is quite empty when we arrived. My son dropped me and my wife at the entrance to the ward building while he parked his car. it was quite easy to locate the ward as my son has given the direction. I followed the signboards and managed to find the ward without difficulty. On arrival, my brother-in-law and his family members already in the ward beside my mum-in-law bed. She was lying on the bed and could not open her eyes or move. She was very weak.

A doctor on duty came around for her regular rounding and we have to leave the wardroom. We hang around in the waiting lounge for about 20 minutes and we decided to leave the hospital at about 12 mid-night. My son stayed back to accompany his aunty in the ward.

After we arrived home, I open my Discord and read the message from Altruistic discord and noted there is an announcement made by @seyiodus on the upcoming event. It was already 1.30 am and I was damn tired and I went to sleep anyway.

I woke up this morning at about 6.50 AM and read this contest post. I noticed it was published 3 hours ago. I was not focus on the details of the article or rules and really not in the mood to write anything for the contest. I asked a question in the discord "Is the contest still on ? Without waiting for an response, I went out for breakfast with my wife. We have planned go to the hospital during visiting hours at noon time. While sitting around and wondering aimlessly, I casually look up the Altruistic discord and read messages about the contest

From the events you read in the write-up, you may be able to guess the condition of my mum-in-law is critical and she is 94 years old. I decided to do a write-up about the happenings in these two days and share this story with you to remind you that we ought to spend time with your love ones while they are still healthy.

Thank god and all your blessing specially members in the Altruistic discord , my wife received a call from her sister my mum-in-law is table now ( as of 1040am on Saturday, 7th April 2018)
