Tip: How to create precise length Aluminum Profiles

in aluminum •  6 years ago  (edited)

In this video I demonstrate a simple method of sizing precise lengths of Aluminum Profile based on a master length, using a set-square and a clamp, after roughly cutting the candidate pieces with a cut-off saw then squaring the ends with a disc sander. Instead of comparing the candidate length with a ruler I rely on using my finger to feel how flush the part is compared to the master.

This method also works with other materials e.g. wood.
