Hello Guys and Gals,
Long time no seen as they say. Unfortunately my time lately has been fully occupied with various activities, which are pretty time-consuming. Fortunately I am on the right path for dealing with this issue. More about that below !
Previous Challenge
As some of you might remember my last posts were on the topic of running and training for a goal of mine, which was set around February - to run a half-marathon (21km) in 3 months time. At the time my running acitivity was non-existent and my maximum lenght of running was around 7-8 km. Also I had a goal of running the race under 1:50h.
In order to succeed in this venture and to actually run it that fast, I had to do some serious training - and I did ! Unfortunately I got injured mid March for around a month or so and I couldn't train. The race was on May 5th and I ran it for 2:15h ! I am very pleased with my performance. I have decided that I will give my body enough time to adjust for the next race and will try to achieve my primary goal of under 1:50h.
Of course after one achieves a big goal, celebration is in order ! My treat was visiting friends in Madrid and going to the Madrid Open Tournament ! There I attented Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals and Finals for the Men and Women ! Rafa Nadal vs Tsitsipas was a blockbuster !
Next Challenge
Before going to Madrid for the tournament I had read a book by Robin Sharma called - The 5 AM Club. I have read many books on the topic of sleep and starting your day as early as possible, however I have never really thought about waking up at 5 AM, of course there is a very good reason for this - I am a day-trader, like a professional day trader that trades on a trading floor with many other traders, our local time is 7 hours ahead of New York (where I trade) which means that the market closes around 11pm local time. I have around 30 mins of commute until I am home and I can go to bed around 12 pm at best ! So that leaves me with 5 hours of sleep.
Always when I have been considering waking up at 5 AM this has been a major set-back. After I read the book I felt so motivated and determined that this time I decided to give it a try ! Essentially I have been doing it for 5-days now and it really is very challenging but it is totally worth it !
Once again I am on Steemit looking for support and offering support ! I would be extra excited if I could find few more enthusiast, who would like to turn around their life for the better. This is a at least 66-day challenge ! No excuses, we are going to wake up for 66 days at 5 AM ! If I can do it, everybody can do it. Extra few hours before work can be extremely beneficial. Oh, did I mention that once you wake up there is a certain routine if you want to become a member of the 5 AM club ? Well, there is !
I will start start sharing my journal with you pretty soon, so you can witness my struggles and how I motivate myself to continue doing what is hard, but precious ! Before I do that I would like to see if anyone is crazy enough to sign up for this challenge with me ! Let me know guys, together we can do it even better ! :)
Please let me know your thoughts in the comments below. Also If you are interested in my Madrid trip or Marathon experience, let me know so I can make a post about them too ! Would love to dig out some photos :)
