When does the journey begin

Amarnath Yatra is usually in the month of July and August. This year the journey will begin from July 1 and continue till 24 August. Amarnath Yatra is considered to be the most sacred pilgrimage in northern India. By the way, the path to reach the Amarnath cave is very difficult, it is located at an altitude of 14,000 ft. In the Amarnath cave every year, the annual Shiva lingam is made of natural ice, which is the only Shivling of its kind in the world. According to geologists, this is a simple shape made of ice, but devotees have given it the shape of an ideal shiveling.

how to go

You can go through different routes for Amar Nath Yatra. First, from Pahalgam and the other from Sonmarg Baltal. There is a facility of government bus from Jammu-Kashmir Tourism Center to reach Pahalgam. Anchorage arrangements are made by NGOs in Pahalgam. Pilgrims' journey begins with Pahalgam, which reaches Chandanbadi, Sheshnag, Pancharatani and then Amarnath cave.

Ballal is about 400 kilometers away from Jammu. Jammu through Udhampur can go from the buses of Jammu Kashmir tourist reception center for Baltal. Pilgrims can visit Amarnath cave in one day from the Baltal camp and come back to the camp.

Even after battling difficult terrain, bad weather, ditch, rain, snow and other problems, there is no shortage of faith in devotees. On reaching the cave, there is unlimited peace. The journey filled with faith and adventure can not be described by words.

Be careful

If you or any of your friends are going on this journey then keep the following things in mind:

First of all check that you are physically fit because the cave is at a height of 14000 feet. You must have a medical certificate to go there.

Wool clothes, gloves and other items should be kept with you in the right amount. Also, some food items like biscuits, snacks and other things should be kept.

You have to carry ration and fuel along the way, which gives you the organizer of the group to take it for you. Keep in mind that the price does not exceed the fixed dues or rationers.

Do not violate traffic rules while walking on the go.

Do not stay in places where there is a barrier to stay and always stay with the band.

Smoking or alcohol consumption is prohibited on the way.
