So a couple weeks ago many of you probably noticed some of your shirts going back into processing. While Amazon hadn't at the time announced why, as we alluded to in that video, Amazon was removing Youth sizes from shirts of a more adult nature ie alcohol shirts, sexually suggestive shirts, etc.
Well today 10/04 we have another policy change. Amazon is now allowing shirts with cussing and references to alcohol and drugs. This is a huge change as for the longest time shirts had to be "family friendly" for lack of a better word.
Now back when Amazon Merch first rolled out they did allow cussing and drug related shirts. One of my best selling shirts of all time was a weed shirt. Sometime a couple years ago however they cracked down and removed these shirts. I'm not sure why exactly, but they've opened it back up.
Now it's not a total free for all there are still content related policies, but this opens up a whole new array of niches and shirts. I think this is quite possibly the biggest merch announcement we've ever gotten. While hoodies and popsockets were cool, this to me is huge for sales. I'm almost having a hard time believing they did this. Even though it's black and white right in the policy I'm almost scared to upload a weed shirt.
Anyhow, wanted to share this news with you. Let me know your thoughts, drop a comment below...
