While its nice to see STEEM rising up the crypto-charts that ultimately means nothing. It's small potatos as far as I'm concerned.
I see Steemit as a social network first and foremost. As Dan says, Steemit is the Trojan horse. As such we need to drive it to the gates and into the kingdom. Once Steemit is there, competing with the likes of Facebook and Twitter, STEEM will not just be seen as 'another' cryptocurrencies but as a viable alternative to fiat itself.
We shouldn't just aim for the moon... WE SHOUD AIM INTERSTELLAR!
Just think, if millions of users (rather than a few thousand) were using Steemit (and/ or it's sister sites), getting paid in STEEM/ STEEM Dollars. Why would they need to exchange into any other currency? Have you seen how easy (and quick) it is to exchange STEEM Dollars with just about anyone across the globe?
Right now there are individuals powering up. What do you think Steemit will be like when the likes of Reuters and AP are forced to power up inorder gain a presence on Steemit?
User adoption... user adoption... user adoption... is key.
A currency raising 900% in week... is just another day in Crypto!
Noob here but utterly enthralled. It will be interesting to see how Steemit evolves over time, especially how it deals with inevitable obstacles along the way. Money brings out the best, and the worst in people. I think the element of money will attract spammers and scammers but if you're vigilant from the start, Steemit could eventually compete with the big boys. Glad to be here so early. This is exciting :)

This is indeed something that could potentially happen. It was a great idea to marry crypto-currency to something that the average person could readily invest themselves in.

I've been spreading this same sentiment throughout the cryptosphere, except I'm down for whatever coin is viable at the time to replace fiat. Last month it was Ethereum, this month it's Steem.
I see Steem going interstellar from here so I'm down.
We must kill fiat and the establishment that thrives off of it :D
