Plaza Venezuela, the public square in Caracas, Venezuela, is one of the most famous tourist locations in this city. It is located in the city center in the Los Caobos neighborhood and was inaugurated in 1940. At the center of Plaza Venezuela, a beautiful fountain is mounted. It has undergone five renovation projects and the most recent project finished in August 2009. It is the first of its kind in Caracas that incorporate music, solid state devices, and media technology in lighting control. There are beautiful gardens around the fountain where you can find locals spending some quality time with their family in the evenings. On most of the evenings, you can enjoy this amazing musical fountain with the backdrop of the sunset.

Many major landmarks are located near this public square. Alejandro Otero’s famous Open Solar sculpture is located adjacent to the fountain. He was a famous Geometric abstraction painter in Venezuela, and his creations are worth visiting. The Museo Sefardí Morris E. Curiel is also located in the vicinity of this public square. The Double Fisicromia designed by Carlos Cruz-Diez is also located adjacent to the water fountain. This landmark is a tribute to Don Andres Bello and looks stunning chromatically. It consists of semi-circular patterns that are arranged in a concave form built by assembling a series of white, black, and trichrome aluminum rods.
