AMC, the largest cinema chain in the United States, has started accepting bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, according to a previously announced plan.
"As promised, we have added many new payment methods with AMC online: Bitcoin, Ethereum, Bitcoin Cash, Litecoin. Also Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal. The next Dogecoin," AMC CEO Adam Eron wrote today.
AMC announced its intention to accept cryptocurrencies to pay for tickets for sessions in August. The chain includes 593 cinemas in the USA and 335 abroad.
Since October, AMC has been allowing customers to pay for gift cards using Dogecoin. Recently, Aaron also announced that the company is considering working with the Shiba Inu token.
In addition to cryptocurrencies, AMC is expanding its presence in other areas and plans to "capture part of the growing multibillion-dollar popcorn market." To do this, the company intends to put popcorn trays in shopping malls, as well as organize its home delivery.
