Credit cards get a bad rap, but they can actually be a good thing among responsible folk.
If you are looking for "the best" credit card than I have what you are looking for. Now, I will say that credit cards are designed for specific life styles and what "the best" is to you can differ from someone else. I am going to tell you "the best" for 'normal people' or people that have families.
I've tried every card... Discover It... Citi Preferred, etc.. They are good too, but THE BEST is... The Blue Cash Preferred Card from American Express.

Now before you think this is some advert... It isn't. I am just a guy writing a blog here. Amex knows nothing of this! (Sadly) lol.
I just have done my research.
6% cash back grocery stores ... 3% cash back gas/department stores ... 1% everything else.
That literally IS the best. Numbers don't lie.
If you spend $800/month at the grocery store than you will have $576 cash back at the end of one year. That already covers the $95 annual fee. Then there is gas. $50/week in gas? That is $78 in annual cash back. Then 1% on everything else. Bills, etc... So add an extra $200 cash back...
That is a grand total of $576 + $78 + $200 = $854 - $95 = $759
These numbers are based on lower income households. I prefer to calculate the lower of the spectrum to see if it is "worth it". This card is even worth is on a lower middle-class income. Do the math on your personal expenses and see.

Do your own research, but I wouldn't be writing this post if the American Express Blue Cash Preferred card wasn't the best. I use it myself!
